Who else?

BU is actually one of my safety schools, but I really like it. I haven't been accepted anywhere yet, so either BU or George Washington should be my first.

BU is also my safety school.
I applied for the Accelerated Medical Program and the Trustee Scholarship in addition to everything else.
I was just accepted to Wash U, so unless I get the medical program and the scholarship there is very little likelyhood that I would attend.

Says online they finished reviewing my application. The 24th seems like a safe bet; hope it's true.

On my BU account it says your application is complete. What about the review? It says absolutely nohting about the review. For all I know my applicatio ncould be complete but still not reviewed. These colleges are totally nuts in their process of notification.

today, it switched from "app complete" to "app reviewed" we must be getting close to notification now...lol.

BU is also one of my safety schools; tulane is the other, and i've already gotten in there with a 22000/yr scholarship that i didn't have to do anything to get. but i applied for trustees @ BU, so hopefully, i'll get some good news in a week or so.

I applied for the Trustee scholarship too...I'm hoping for at least a University 1/2 tuition scholarship.

Kiki, I bet you get the 1/2 tuition scholarship. If your stats are good enough to apply for Trustee, I'd say the odds are excellent.

I really hope so. I have a 1520 SAT and a 790 SATII Writing which are higher than the averages for the Trustee, and I put a lot of time into the essay...so I hope that even if I didn't get that, it would at least help me get the 1/2 tuition.

does boston give merit scholarships based on academics, etc. without you having to apply for it? if so, do they let you know when you're accepted?

Yes. S applied early decision and was awarded half-tuition University Scholarship. No special application was needed.

However, they have several full tuition scholarships that have separate applications, such as the Trustee Scholarship and the Martin Luther King Scholarship. They also have a few scholarships that you can recieve by taking exams. I believe there are exams for engineering, Greek, and Latin.

You can find all the info on the web site under Merit Scholarships. Some you have to apply for but the 10 K and the half tuition ones require NO application. If your acceptance letter doesn't mention the scholarship and you would guess you'd receive one--then you or your parent should call the financial office and show your interest especially if they may think that because its your so-called safety school you may not be interested. They will likley send you a seperate letter with the scholarship info then but call and email if you don't hear in early April. By having the half tuition scholarship we saved a lot and our S is using some of that to do a BU Program in Spain for a few wks this summer. (they will also give him money for that too because of his GPA)That would have been a real stretch if he didn't get the university schoilarship.
He did get into more competetive school but really wanted an urban lifestyle but within a campus community environment and NYC seemed a little too integrated into the city. If you are in the Honors Program you have interesting opportunities for special events and internships so remeebr if you are at the top of their incoming class there are many perks. Our S got into Tufts, NYU, and Cornell and realized it would spend his life studying at Cornell while BU offered challenging academics plus a socail life.

It's been saying that for awhile... ahhhhhh :(
