who exactly qualifies as a transfer?

Hi everyone.
I was wondering if someone attended a college after high school but then withdrew for some reason and now wants to apply from the start and DOES NOT want to get the credit hours transferred or anything from the previous college what would he/she be considered?
How would this effect the chances of admission?
Considering the previous college being the best ranked my country.
Anxious

You would be considered a freshman. How it effects your chances of admission depends on what you did with your time after withdrawing. If you worked or did an internship or something then at the very least it can’t hurt you. If you did nothing that will definitely hurt you though.

If you have been granted any college credit after your high school graduation then you are a transfer student. If you withdrew your first semester and never got the credit, then I believe you can apply as a freshman.

Unfortunately even if you don’t want the college credit transfered, if you have any credit at all (again, only counting the credit you’ve been granted after you have graduated from high school), you cannot apply as a freshman. They will, and you are ethically bound to do so, want to see your college transcripts for anything that you’ve actually completed.
