Why So Serious?

People can't help it if they have mental disorders, and they're not always related to stress. And about the depression stuff said earlier - sometimes people become depressed and you can't just tell them to "suck it up and get over it" - it's a chemical imbalance and really serious thing.

Besides, there is an end to stress - I'm rarely stressed out, because it's not like one bad grade - or whatever you guys are so stressed out about - is going to ruin my life. Staying stress-free has kept my grades up, believe it or not. And stress does not "keep piling up" for everyone.

then, inveniamviam,
you have learned how to effectively manage stress :)
I offer my congratulations

^ Good.

well i don't really equate "overwhelmed" with stressed
I don't really freak out when I get bad grades nor do I feel really pressured to always do well. Which I agree, has actually helped my grades
But i do feel like there aren't enough hours in the day. It's like my to-do list just doesn't end, so I do feel overwhelmed

@ Inveniamviam
I'm like you, I don't really stress out too much. I won't be so upset if I get a B, just nothing lower. I was feeling overwhelmed when I realized there was no way I'd finish all three of my online classes before school restarted, but I took care of that by setting a new deadline so that I only had to finish the first semester of each, which made it seem much easier.

But my sister stresses constantly. All through her junior and senior year she was stressing (she was even stressing over summer that her college would suddenly decide to kick her out and that she'd end up at the community college). I was always having to calm her down and tell her how irrational her fears were, which stressed me out at times.

It's hard being overwhelmed with my life right now when there is pretty much nothing going on. :(

"And stress does not "keep piling up" for everyone."

I have to agree, otherwise I'd be really stressed right now. I was stressed, now I'm not. Usually people aren't stressed out during the summer. Usually. School is when everything piles up and there's more to worry about.
