what do you mean i don't have a username?

Not you Zarah, the poster in between your two posts

Hey def890, you didn't see a package, but you saw a letter right?

correct...it was a normal business sized envelope

how did your parents react? My parents have been drilling me for the past week, "Relax, you're not getting in, no point to stress about it..."

dear user with no name and rest of CA hopefuls
i know it is hard but try to have a nice sunday afternoon.
i know a little bit of CA postal system and believe me when i tell you that yestrday being Saturday, priority or not 50% of chance that you would have not recieved intended mail yesterday.
You still have chance as good as it would have been on last Friday. As a owner of cool(no) user name, i say you have higher chance than any.
Good luck

my parents were expecting me to get deferred. i was expecting it as well, so i didn't think it would feel all that bad when i actually got hte letter. i was wrong. for me, it feels horrible, but life goes on, and i have to finish my last 2 RD applications (columbia and upenn). at my school, all the minorities/legacies/athletes are getting into the top schools, and it's kinda annoying because i'm an asian male (the worst possible combination)

You just did.

Actually, I do have a username, but because of how the majority of the software industry decided to implement the second half of the ASCII charset, it appears that I don't have one. If you didn't understand that, then don't worry. Unless you're a computer science major.

@Def

I agree - applications should not have boxes for race, gender, or any other characteristic that is out of the applicant's control, with the exception of the legacy box. I myself am not a legacy, but I can see why the school wants to accept people who are more prone to donate.

I got my mail and I live in borderline b/t Orange COunty and LA county.
Result: the thin, white envelope.

Very devastated.
My interviewer told me princeton barely picks anyone from OC,, maybe that's true consdiering how no one ever in my area got in there.

I wanted to be the first one,,but NAH

:(

Good luck to the rest of ya'll Californians (and the others in RD round) from Florida!
