Who gets Harvard, Yale, Princeton rejects?

Does any body know where most students who got rejected from HYP go to???

The students second or third choice-DUH

Most likely other top 20 universities or top 10 colleges.

If the students 1st choice = Harvard
2nd choice = yale
3rd choice = Princeton then ?????????????? is what I meant please excuse my ignorance

I don't get the question.
How are we supposed to know this hypothetical student's exact order of preferences for colleges?

im guessing a lot of people go to

stanford
MIT
Caltech
USC
Texas
Michigan
Rice
Chicago
UVA
cornell
UPEnn
Columbia
duke
Berkeley
Carolina Chapel Hill

lots of choices outside those 3...

Yeah and then there's the top LACs too
Amherst
Swarthmore
Williams
Wellesley
Pomona
Middlebury
Vassar
etc

I like backfire's list. I don't think whyivy understood the question.

ME!

(j/k...I never applied nor do I intend to)

Oh and happy 300th or so post to me..I have officially met the "member" status.

If they don't get into other Ivys, I hear Tufts and UChicago are common choices.

yeah, tufts is the place. Not to badmouth tufts, but it doesn't have a lot of personality outside of "we didn't get into harvard so now we're here" I now fully expect the Tufts people to tell me why I'm wrong.

Thank you for all of your responses!! Backfire you answered what I wanted to hear.

backfire , What college do you think you will end up going?

2nd tier ivies, duke, state universities etc. etc.

Ferrisbueller: Here's a Tufts person to tell you you shouldn't make generalizations. Yeah, there are certainly Harvard rejects here, but there are Harvard rejects at Yale and Princeton and the rest of the Ivies, and top LACs, and peer schools to Tufts (like Duke, Gtown, Northwestern, UChicago, Hopkins, etc.)... Now don't generalize and say ALL Tufts students are Ivy rejects. Myself, I got into Cornell and Dartmouth, but Tufts was just a better fit (finaid was not a consideration in my case). And I'm not an anomaly here, really, I know others who got into some Ivies. Some even who got into HYP, but got better finaid from Tufts (granted, they probably would've gone elsewhere had HYP offered them more money). The end.

Remember that there are some who get into Harvard but not Stanford, or Yale but not UPenn. Or even Stanford but not Berkeley.

Hey...don't hate on MIT and Caltech...they're science and math based....someone who didn't get into HYP won't get into MIT and Caltech either unless they're math/sci geeks.

backfire, you realize that people who go to MIT and Caltech may not even consider HYP good options? I am at Caltech now, was accepted to MIT, and I didn't even apply to HYP. They are not places where HYP rejects go, because they also recruit the top talent and they want somewhat different people than HYP.

Stanford is just as good as HYP, and doesn't need to be labeled as a place where the HYP rejects go.

Don't take the question the wrong way...just because you get rejected from HYP doesn't mean you're stuck at a terrible school. That was the point of the OP's question.

MallomarCookie, I think you're a bit confused.
