If you applied and/or got accepted (or deferred or rejected), tell us here and if you do not mind, mention your stats so others can compare their chances of being accepted, too. This is my dream school and I thought this would be a great way to see my chances of acceptance and be a reference for others in my position. I am so anxious to get my letter in the mail!! Thanks so much for anyone that participates in this discussion. Good luck to everyone that also thinks that University at Buffalo is an amazing school and wants to be there (hopefully, with me) in the Fall!!! Hope this thread will be helpful.

I went back and found one of my other kid’s admissions letters, dated 2/7. That kid got an offer to the honors college in the mail two weeks later. Good luck, Dreams01. I have a kid who is waiting too.

Please feel free to simply post if you got in or not and if you plan to attend. I recommend posting your stats for reference and an idea of what type of applicants are getting in. Participate anyway that you would like. Thanks!

dreams? are you a definite if you get accepted?

Friend’s S got accepted yesterday with Presidential scholarship (full ride).

I haven’t received my letter yet, still waiting. If i do get accepted, UB is almost definetly the school that I am going to. The only things that are a concern of mine is the distance it is from my home, the traffic and I have heard that Buffalo is a dangerous area, plus the campus has had alot of crime on it as armed robberies. So, after putting more thought into UB, it is still in my top three but I have had my eyes opened to the negative aspects of going to UB. The things that I love about UB is the education (that i have heard is excellent), the many places to eat, and all the students that I can meet. When I visited, I loved UB and I still do. Another thing that I am not caring for too much, though is that they still have not notified me about my acceptance and the college has not really sent me mail as other colleges have been. I have gotten accepted to all the colleges that I had applied to so far. I am only waiting for UB and a couple others to hear from. UB has not sent me as much mail as other colleges and I was really hoping that the college that I plan to go to would be as interested in me as I was in it. So I am slightly disappointed in UB in that aspect, also. Still, I really can’t wait to be accepted. I really do want to go to UB. What do some other UB applicants think about UB- the pros and cons?

Happy & blessed to say my dtr received her acceptance with the Presidential Scholarship today for chemical engineering.

Please mention the applicant’s stats, if possible. Thanks!! I appreciate all participants so far and hope to hear from many more!

Do I get informed if I don’t get the Presidential Scholarship? I was admitted in December, and the decision came online. Since I’ve got no notification, does that mean I didn’t get it?
Also, what are the kind of stats they look for in the applicants?

Also, did the decisions come online?

coskat - Did your D have a phone interview for the Presidential scholarship? Just wondering if that was an indicator that you were in the running or not.

Yes, my dtr did have a phone interview a couple of weeks ago so we knew it was a possibility.
As to Dream’s request for stats my dtr has 101.77 wgt GPA, 7 AP’s, 2250 SAT, she is 6/421 in her class.

I’m OOS, and I applied back in October. Does this mean I should be expecting a decision in the mail soon, or do they send an e-mail?

Accepted! I live in NY and had a 1350 on my SAT’s. I got a scholarship for 5,000 a year but was rejected from their Engineering program.

I just got my acceptance letter today. i was offered a $5,000 a year Provost scholarhip. I was declined acceptance to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, which I was only mildly interest in anyway, so its ok. Heres some of my stats:

1450 SAT
720 CR
730 M
680 W
Im ranked 7 in my class of about 140, and I’ve had about a 96 average for my entire high school career.

Good luck! and that letter should be coming soon

pwesolowski10 and waldo1518, where in NY do you guys live? i’m instate as well, 1380 CR+M and 95 UW average and haven’t heard anything

S got acceptance today. $5k/year Provost scholarship plus $3K/year Engineering Dean’s scholarship.
97/100 UW GPA
35 ACT (SAT II - 800 Math II, 760 Physics)
9AP’s
5/350 class rank

I got ACCEPTED today!!!

Dang, I’m seeing some good stats on here.

I just got my letter about 10 minutes ago. $5K merit for MechE. I had 1350 SAT, 30 ACT and 98/100UW, 102/100W. Rank 1 of 93. No AP’s offered, but I’ll have about 19 community college credits.

I’ll probably go there just cause it’s rediculously cheap. The only thing that I really don’t like is that I have a lot of family that lives in Buffalo. Home is a two hour drive, which is kind of nice. I don’t want to be one of those kids that comes back to visit kids still in high school, but I have lots of friends in grades below me, so the option might not be a bad thing. Also, I’m mildly intimidated by the class sizes, but I suppose any school is going to have big chem/phys/calc/history classes.

I am kinda concerned about the class sizes too. I cannot imagine being in a classroom with 300! or more other students. Will professors be able to pay attention to all the students and their questions?
