I just got accepted yesterday!

SAT-1690/2400 1050/1600
GPA- 3.0
Rank- top 40% (not sure of exact ranking)

(i’m aware my stats are fairly low lol)

I got accepted on Friday, like everyone else from the Buffalo area, with the 5K Provost Scholarship.

690 CR
690 M
650 W

1380/1600, 2030/2400

3.7 average thru HS, 11/273 class rank (top 5%)

3 AP’s taken so far (3 Euro, 4 USH, 5 Lang + Comp), 5 more this year

Insane EC’s, solid essays, alright recommendations.

Accepted yesterday in NYC! Got the $5000/year Provost scholarship.

2120/2400 (640 M, 740 CR, 740 W)
96 GPA weighted

Some APs, good recs, decent ECs

I also got rejected from the School of Engineering and Applied Science… but I had no intention of applying there in the first place, so I’m not sure how that happened- guess it’s for the best, lol.

Accepted. Got my letter on the 20th. Pretty exciting since it was my first college letter!

I got both the Provost Scholarship and supplemental award (Since I applied from out-of-state) so I would get 7.5k annually, which is nice. I got into my engineering school of choice, which was a pleasant surprise. The letter mentioned FA as well.

~3.75 GPA
A handful of APs. Lots of clubs; officer of two, co-founder of one. SATs: ~1900. Thinking that maybe my teacher’s letter of recommendation sealed the deal since we know each other real well. We don’t have class ranks.

Really considering going to this school. Just got to wait on Virginia Tech first, though…

pha516, Do you know how the Architecture program rates?

DS just got his letter of acceptance to the architecture program. Yay!

So i just got a letter today from the director of admissions saying that they know this is a time where people get very anxious while waiting to hear from colleges and they also said that some of my friends have heard from them already. They then said that my application is still in the review process.

Does this mean that they haven’t really looked at my app yet and they don’t want me to worry, thinking i haven’t gotten accepted? Or are they telling me im on the boarder of being accepted and things aren’t looking good.

Swish7209-I am not 100% on this, but I think that UB has first and second round admissions letters. The applications that are possibly submitted later or something will not be reviewed before the first applications that have had a decision made on them. The other option that I can think of is that your application is not with as high stats as others and it would be looked over again with others before they make decisions on second-round admissions. I do not think that you are rejected. If you were, they probably would be more forward and send you a rejection letter. You could post your stats here and everyone else could give you an opinion also. Good luck!!

Thank you, Some of my stats: GPA 90 ACT-23 SAT- 1050 (weak point) with a great essay and top 1/3 of my class of 173

acme, I do not know how this architecture program rates. I know it is the only architecture program in the SUNY system. I know it is competitive to get into. I did go visit the school with my son and the architecture department was very nice. If you find ratings on this school please let me know and I will do the same. Is your son going to go to Buffalo? We are considering it.

Swish. I received the same letter :/

Son just received his acceptance letter for the Engineering program, plus a $7500 Provost/out of state scholarship.
Stats: ACT 30, GPA 3.5, class rank top half

NYC Public School
1920 SAT
28 ACT
92.8 Average

Accepted with Daniel Ackers Scholarship which is full tuition.

rtsheerin- nice scholarship for OOS

marimelo21- Do you know how you got the full tuition scholarship- likely not GPA/ACT/SAT grades. Just curious.

Crazed-- I think the Ackers Scholarship is a diversity initiative.

SAT: 650 math, 650 Critical Reading
ACT: 30/36
GPA: 91 UW
Tons of EC and volunteer work, Varisty Soccer, APs and such

With my rejection from Binghamton (forget them) I will see you all there at Buffalo, baby!

My son got 5K Provost’s scholarship and admission to Honors college and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences along with his acceptance letter late in February. And then today he got another letter giving him $1,000 a year for four years–an SAE scholarship. This is like Deal or No Deal. His first choice is Binghamton (where he’s been admitted), but with no financial aid. I guess this will be the first truly hard decision he’s ever had to make.
His stats?
95 average
4th in class of 63
32 ACT (didn’t submit SAT)
Lots of Varsity sports
Other ECs

Son was also admitted to UB School of Engineering with a Provost scholarship. Also admitted to U of Bing engineering. He is going to the admitted students open house at Bing this weekend, but likes Buffalo more than Bing. This weekend should be the final decision.

Accepted to UB (just got back from orientation) and I am an Acker’s scholar. I had a 27 ACT and a 1620 SAT ( 490 Math 640 CR) high school GPA was about 3.8 ( ranked 5th in class of 77) competitive EC’s (student council pres, NHS pres etc etc etc) Can’t wait to start at UB :)
