<p>Few students told me they got phone calls from the admissions office congratulating them on their acceptance. Anyone else got the call?</p>
<p>I just got it. Pretty cool. He said they were trying to do it for as many students as they could. I don’t know if it means we’re special or not. But I’ll pretend like it does.</p>
<p>Do they only do it for the highly qualified students first or is it random?</p>
<p>They also seek out alums to call people; my impression was that it’s pretty much random.</p>

<p>I got one too!!! I came home after a tennis match to a message left by Dr Brown. BEST FEELING EVER!!!</p>
<p>I also doubt that there is any method in the order of which the admitted students are notified.
Personally, I was nothing special with a
4.0 UC GPA,
1940 SAT (590, 690, 660),
lots of AP classes,
no IB classes,
no subject tests,
Varsity Tennis,
NHS Treasurer,
CSF treasurer,
Tutoring club treasurer,
Marching Band Section Leader,
1st chair French Horn, Trombone, and Tenor Saxophone in Concert Band,
1st chair at our “all-district honor band,”
1st chair soloist in Jazz Band,
Senior Editor for school newspaper,
and 300+ hours of community service.
Though, I am a Mexican First-generation college student from Riverside county (which is pretty local), so I guess that helped a bit.</p>

<p>According to Ms. Sun’s blog (I’m an avid reader hhaha), “Since the admit pool is large and the calls go out in the evenings, expect the call campaign to last at least a week if not two weeks.”</p>
<p>Does anyone know if all admitted students will receive the call or only the top ones? Or are they just randomly selecting people?</p>
<p>Only some students get calls. Its completely random from what I know. I didnt get a call when I got accepted but some of my friends did. Just keep checking the admissions website. Good luck! :)</p>
<p>my son got a call around dinner while he was playing tennis ystd. he thought it was a joke, but it was for real
