person b: Academics - 1800 SAT, 3 SAT IIs in the 600s, 3.5 GPA, 6 APs, top 40% EC - Leadership Club 4 years, School Newspaper 3 years (Started a comic strip), Big Brother Mentor Program 1 year, Founded Asian American Club, writer/chief editor of a literary magazine, extra community service (non-required for school), Sports - Nothing

Assuming that person B is Asian (considering that he/she is the founder of the Asian-American club), even if he/she boosted his/her SAT to 2100, I wouldn't give him/her much of a chance.

It's almost as if OP wants us to say Person B - I'm judging from the way he's phrased things.

HOWEVER, it is simply extremely difficult for me to believe Person A has NO ECs. Perhaps no sports, yes. But someone with those stats should at least be doing some academic ECs like math team, science olympiad, quiz bowl, and so on. So I doubt that we are getting an accurate representation, and whatever information is missing most likely weighs in Person A's favor.

It's probably equal. A's complete lack of ECs and sports would do a great deal of harm. At least B is well rounded. Sure, not spectacular, but well-rounded.
