<p>The stats you quote don’t support your argument. Having a larger percentage in colleges doesn’t mean you are favored in admissions. It’s more accurate to judge how strong applicants have to be to be admitted, and asians do have to be stronger applicants to be admitted than hispanic students do.
At small (often liberal arts) colleges with small percentages of asians there is an advantage for being asian. For example yes, if you appl yto davidson and are asian the fact that they re 2% asian will help you.</p>
<p>But in the vast majority of cases being asian hurts you. did waitatshu mean literally 10X more, no of course, can you come up with an exact amount? i don’ tthink so, but nevertheless it is true and does have a recognizable effect on admissions. Whereas being hispanic helps the applicant in a significant enough to be visible way.</p>
