Who has gotten in / when did u apply

Of the people who have heard a decision, what was the date you applied? I'm trying to find the latest submission date that has heard already.

I haven't gotten in yet, but I know someone applied at the very beginning of Oct. (the 10th I believe?), but they had a near perfect SAT score, so they were probably just a "turbo admit." I had everything complete by the 9th and I haven't heard a decision.

Second round of decisions will probably released at the end of this week or early next week... maybe

vc08, I'm in your boat, everything completed by 10/10.

blackpen, how do you know? Can we call the office and find out you think?

I think the office is probably overloaded with calls. ok, here was a facebook response from the group: Accepted, U of M Class of 2012, to the question "why did we get in so early?":

"my sister, who is a senior at brown, has a friend whose mother is a UMich admissions rep and her mom told her that this was not an official release date but some the kids who applied really early in September and we're essentially going to get anyway were notified early so their applications got out of the way and we were done with, but only a very, very small number of acceptances were sent out, so... go us!"

i am curious as to blackpen's theory though...but i'm just not gonna assume anything, becuase the only thing they said is that decisions are being released beginning nov. 9th. So until then, i'm not really expecting anything.

Well the fact is that the people who were accepted early ONLY received an email and nothing through the mail... until nov. 9. I think that decisions will be released every so often online, but the acceptance letter won't be mailed until the official date.

Not true. My S got the email last week and the official acceptance letter in the mail this week.

yes, those who were accepted have received notification through WA, email, and snail mail.

my app. was complete august 27th, and I know kids from my school who turned in their apps mid-september and were accepted last week. i on the other hand have yet to hear from michigan and it's getting annoying

acamaj01,

What are your stats?

i had everything in by Oct. 2 and I got the acceptance email on Oct. 23

mgoblue13,

What were your stats? I had my stuff completed by the 8th so I hope to hear back soon. I'm getting anxious!

Josh, a few things are possible:

1) they simply have not reviewed your app yet (remember, if you live in a region where many kids apply to UM, it may be slower, since it has to go through a regional counselor first)

2) If you were not an easy admit (eg your stats/ECs were suspect), they may want to wait until all the ER apps are in to make a decision, which means you may not get one until Dec. 21st. Lame, I know, but unfortunately, that's how the system works, and we all have to deal with it.

vc08,

Thanks. I thought I was at least average or a bit above especially with my EC's, but I guess not. Oh well, we'll see.

well, like i said, maybe they just haven't gotten around to it yet. i know a few ppl who submitted their app by the first few days of Oct. and had like 29s/30s on the ACT, but everyone else who has heard had scores around 34+ or in the 2300s.

App complete 9/18, accepted 10/5. Didn't receive anything in the mail until 10/29.

I'm a transfer, though, so the process may be different.

when u say application completed by ___ , is that ur part or everything, including counselor stuff?

Yea, I submitted my app like Oct 7th or something. but my teacher rec wasn't submitted till a few days ago.

i have a 3.81 unweighted gpa, 3.95 UM gpa
