Who HAS NOT recieved an e-mail?

I hope what u said is true and my feeling that it is the only wave is wrong:(( My friend got the email and she also got accepted by other IVy school. I feel so much pressure now :(( Why do they have to send out in Friday anyway …

I hope you’re right. I am just so skeptical of this process now…what if something is missing?! Although I remember calling earlier this month, and they said if something in my app is missing they will let me know. ugh. I am just so frustrated with this waiting process…it seems like most people have got their letters already.

^ I do hope you are right.
This cannot be the only wave.
I hope there is more coming.

Honestly, I hope the email will come in next week but I am really tired of all the drama: usc status, boston college tab, now nyu email. I feel like breaking down and cannot take it any more :(

No email here in Oklahoma. I applied to Tisch for Acting. Nothing was as bad as reading everyone freaking our about their emails earlier today! That kinda confirms it though if and NYU office said that? Hopefully the “waves” theory is correct. It is the biggest blow to ones self confidence, huh?

i didn’t get the email :(

is it by region? or random?
because a few people got their emails already from my school

ya I hope the waves theory is right also. When everyone calls on monday, put the info you get from them up here! thanks. and sorry about that liridori, i have seen many fakes on here but i think u are real now. :)

No problem davin,…But now i see mroe and more people got the email. I think the chance is very slim. I just told my parents i didn’t get in and they were fine about it …

another oklahoman-tisch-applicant without the glorious email. i’m particularly worried because i feel like i am certainly academically qualified, so if emails were sent out on that measure of selectivity i would’ve gotten one…

yeah i applied to CAS undecided and no email. I doubt i got in. i mean id like to have that hope that they’re still sending them out in waves but i dont want to get my hopes high. i found out about the emails through nyu’s class of 2014 facebook group. i like to check it randomly from time to time and i wish i had never looked at it. : (

I was told by admissions that they’re coming out in waves and that was the first one, so keep your hopes up!

Check out the NYU admissions blog from last year (2009). It’s pretty clear:

From the NYU Admissions Blog:

March 2009

For freshmen applicants, March is a “wait and see” month. In the admissions office, we are busy finalizing admissions decisions, and all decisions - offers of admission, denials, and wait list - will be mailed during the last week of March so as to arrive on or about April 1st. All notification for US postal addresses is by mail; we provide admissions decisions electronically only to students outside the United States.

We have also started to send out invitations to various on- and off-campus events to freshman applicants who will be offered admission later this month. For more information on invitations, click here.

Beginning in late March and extending through April, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions hosts a variety of events both on and away from the NYU campus in New York City for freshmen who will receive offers of admission on or about April 1st. We want to answer in advance the two questions we always receive as invitations to these events start to arrive in mailboxes across the country over the next few weeks.

The first question is: “I received an invitation. Does this mean that I will be offered admission to NYU?” The answer to this question is a resounding “Yes!”

The other question we always receive is “I didn’t receive an invitation. Does this mean I will not be offered admission to NYU?” The answer to this question is “Not necessarily.”

There are several reasons why NOT receiving an invitation - yet - does not automatically mean that you will not be offered admission. First, our admissions process continues through the end of March. While we are in the process of finalizing decisions, we must also begin mailing program invitations so that families can make necessary travel arrangements. In other words, we have to begin mailing invitations before we have finished making admissions decisions. Since at this time we are still actively reviewing applicants and making admissions decisions, not receiving an invitation is in no way an indication of an admissions decision. All applicants will receive official admissions decisions notification on or around April 1st.

i feel like people for cas and lsp didnt get emails. thats what im seeing in the majority of these threads

^ I applied for CAS and I got an e-mail. Haven’t heard for LSP yet though.

alright well ur posts make me feel semi better about this, so i guess im not going to go into despair just yet until i get that decision on april 1st. crosses fingers

oh really? aw. my friend applied to cas and she didnt get an email :frowning: she should hope for the best i guess then.
i hope these emails arent sent to LSP admitted students. I’d be really bummed if i get into LSP instead of Steinhardt

and plus I live in NYC so I don’t understand why they emailed me to make travel plans. But nonetheless I am excited!

“Honestly, I hope the email will come in next week but I am really tired of all the drama: usc status, boston college tab, now nyu email. I feel like breaking down and cannot take it any more”

haha, yeah, i can relate. there is so much unnecessary BS in admissions. weird tabs, mysterious statuses, strange emails. really, give us a damn date we can all check our decisions by & i would be FINE. this is so ridiculous. i tell ya, if i never hear any more speculation about college decisions, it would be too soon -_-

i didnt get an email and i applied to steinhardt…a girl from my school got into Tisch today.
Im in california…anyone in the same boat? NYU was a reach, but i really thought i had a chance because my application, i thought was really good, im just a well rounded student/person( i think) i dont have exceptional scores, but i think my EC’s are pretty darn good. anyways… today has been pretty sucky, im so upset about this.
