Who HAS NOT recieved an e-mail?

crap 10char

after spending the better part of my english class sulking with my head on my desk and repeating the phrase “im very depressed, dont talk to me” to just about every single classmate of mine, i step out of class to “go to the bathroom” and called NYU. What i got was, just because we didnt get an email does not mean that we are rejected, it was done at random and we still have a chance at being accepted ( she seemed very confident ) she also said the list of people who would receive emails was random so thats why not everyone received an email… i still have hope for us!! =)

Sherry, I also got LSPed but received no email.

I called NYU this morning and the lady I spoke to did say that just becuase we didn’t get the e-mail doesn’t mean we’re rejected, BUT she also said that there were going to be more e-mails being sent out.

Clearly you guys had some different answers? This is so wierd. April 1: Come SOON!

The big schools all seem to have a hard time giving a single story to all who call. I for one am not feeling so hot about my chances at this point, but none of us can know for sure either way until we get our letters.

keeping my fingers crossed for everyone. i definitely thought that mass email NYU sent out a few weeks ago was the email everyone was talking about…until i was proved wrong.

Woah, wait…I just re-read the generic email:

“April 9-11: Events on campus for accepted students. These events are by invitation only, and RSVP instructions will be sent only to accepted applicants.”

…am I reading too far into this, or does the RSVP email kind of sound like the “RSVP instructions” that “will be sent only to accepted applicants”?

:/

i’m pretty sure that email was to everyone, just letting them know that further instructions would be sent out later, if you were lucky :/

What was the purpose of sending any emails??? Did anyone ask. WHY would they send random emails???

VF12426, I think you’re reading too far into it. We just need to wait it out at this point and see what happens.

is it possible that only those students who got into the major they applied to received the email? like maybe if you didn’t get the email that means you didnt get into your major but there is still a chance you got into a different one?

wait hardworker, you called the offices and they said that they are still going to send out e-mails?! Why is everyone getting different answers…was this whole e-mail debacle really necessary-only adds to the insane amount of stress we already have :(

This was my conversation over the phone that I made on Monday morning (on behalf of my sibling who’s currently on a school trip):

“Hi, I just wanted to ask you a quick question regarding this email I just received. The title is <Book your travel plans to NYC…”
“Ah, yes, that email… is an unofficial notification of acceptance. CONGRATULATIONS!”
“I am admitted?”
“Haha, yes, congratulations. You’re accepted.”
“Wait, so if I applied to Tisch, it means I got into Tisch?”
“Yes, definitely. Congratulations!”
“Thank you, thank you.”
“Is there anything else you’d like to ask?”
“No, that’d be all. Thank you!”
“Have a nice day!”

I don’t think it was a generic mail sent out to all applicants. It makes sense for NYU to notify accepted students like this, because considering that April 1 is a Thursday, there might be a chance that some applicants won’t be notified via snailmail until Monday, April 5 or even Tuesday. That wouldn’t give enough time for some (especially international applicants) to make travel plans to attend the sessions scheduled on the 9th.

ya well if that happens to me and I DO get accepted via snailmail…then I can’t go to those admitted student days. We can’t book tickets to nyc five days before…

hey, this might have already been answered… but are LSP students not supposed to get the “book travel plans” email? I’m reading through these threads and I don’t see any LSPers with emails. I got LSP’ed and I got the email on March 19th like most people did. If they decided to put me in CAS, YAY! if that’s not what the email means then that’s still okay lol.

anyone get any decisions today?

ughhh, i want an acceptance packet, email, sticky, post-it note, facebook inbox, telegram…i don’t even freaking care anymoreeeeee. goes crazy 0_o

still another wave coming…we can’t lose hope!!!

@thisgirllisaG meeeee to!!! ill do anything at this point haha, its really pathetic actually, every time i check the status of a different school i say to myself " i will totally give up getting into this school in exchange for an acceptance to NYU!" hahaha I want to get in so bad, but it was a reach school for me =/…if you dont mind me asking, was it a reach for you?

looooooool…considering she got rejected from UW…
