who hasn't hear from UCI yet?

I'm guessing either water polo or bball? Hope I got it right.

Athletes bring something important to the school just as honors students do. They are in the elite of all students in the country at what they do. Most athletes have put in 20 or more hours a week for their sport in addition to achieving in school. So yes, they deserve special treatment in admissions. Employers love to hire D1 athletes because they know how to work really hard, be commited to what they do and are excellent team players. UCI Lover will have job offers to choose from after graduation due to playing a D1 sport. Don't knock athletes until you can keep up with one.

Cheers!!! Collegemom. I have to spend 2-3 hours a day in training, and keep up with my grades besides...

Being athletic is a talent too you know.

still nothing

mmm well goodluck everyone tomorrow. im gonna check tomorrow...if its not up they are gonna get a nasty call from a disgruntled teenager -_-

You are obviously both talented and smart and I salute you UCI Lover. Athletes also graduate at a higher rate then their not athlete peers. Does your sport involve a ball UCI Lover?

i talked to a friend whos a freshman in college today...she said she got her uci notification in mid-may and she got in

still nothing at 12:30am. Who else is calling UCI tomorrow?

1:30AM

still nothing. my friend didn't get anything too

i'm not sure if im calling tomorrow

blah this is ridiculous
uci accept or not screw it
SD it is.

OK...I JUST TALKED WITH THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE! they told me to check back at 4pm and it doesn't mean that you've been rejected...everything is still open!

hi all, i'm STILL waiting to hear from UCI as well...

called their admissions office about an hour ago and was also told to check the site again at 4PM. I was told that they do not give out admissions statuses over the phone, and that the delay is due to a "technical difficulty" caused by the large volume of traffic to the site / number of applicants. Honestly, I have no idea what UCI is doing...this same thing happened to a few people last year as well, so one would imagine that the issue would have been fixed by now? Either way, I wouldn't stress too much about this being a sign of rejection...I know some people last year who didn't hear anything and then all of a sudden got their acceptance in mid april.

Thanks for sharing the info. Guess I don't need to call now. Just wait til 4...

Damn it! I found out that the Admission Director has to review my 7th semester transcript before making a decision. Hope those c's don't change his mind about accepting me. I just want to kick myself for even bother to take those tough ap and honor classes this year...

damnit! rejected!.. o well, theres always sdsu or ucr

Fisch, did you just find out? I thought nothing will be posted until 4. I am very sorry... I'm still waiting.

sdsu is a fun school. I wouldn't mind going there.

yeah sdsu is alright, uci is much better though, im sure ull get in

I am not so sure now... The coach told me today that the Director is still reviewing my 7th transcript before making a decision. I feel like walking on thin ice now.
My friend got accepted really early but her grades this year were F's and D's due to "senioritis". She was honest about it with UCI, they then told her to retake those classes in the summer and pass them. I just hope they'll let me do that if needed.

LOL rejected from UCI =(
SD it is....
