Who hasn't heard from Bing yet?

I was denied via email, but offered to send my app to CCPA - and less than 12 hours later accepted, I found out on the status checker. but I haven’t gotten it in the mail yet, and I’m instate.

What is ccpa?

The College of Community and Public Affairs.

[Binghamton University - Academics: Schools and Colleges: School of Community and Public Affairs](College of Community and Public Affairs | The College of Community and Public Affairs | Binghamton University)

Same thing happened to me sophie, got the email that i was rejected from harpur but then accepted into CCPA the next day. Now i am thinking about going and just transfering into harpur after a semester.

@sophiesrsly and @expand1: did you declare a major or are you undeclared/undecided? Is there some reason they put you in the CCPA?

Congrats!

I was actually rejected from undeclared, which is by default Harpur. CCPA has four majors, they put me into human development. so now I’m a human development major in CCPA as opposed to undeclared in Harpur. seems to me that CCPA probably had more room to fill, so the kids who were good enough for Binghamton but there wasn’t enough space for them in Harpur or SOM got put there.

So I just called the Office of Admissions and heard a recorded message stating that the admissions committee is still reviewing applications and that all decisions will be mailed OR emailed by April 1st.

<11 Days we can do this people, good luck to you all

I don’t think I’ll make it that long…

been waiting for about 4 months while getting deferred in the mix of it all, i think i can wait 11 more days, but getting the mail everyday is ridiculously stressful.

What about checking the pay your deposit page? Does anyone have luck with that?

It didn’t work for me. status.binghamton.edu hasn’t been updated for me in a very long time either. They still haven’t posted that they’ve received my latest SAT scores, although I know they have because I have been in contact with one of the Admissions Officers. So hopefully it’s that they’re just neck deep in applications to review and just haven’t had time to update. At this point, I’d be relieved to be asked to join ccpa. I’m so anxious.

Hello the same thing happened to my son was denied and asked to apply to College of Community and Public Affairs, but when we log on th BU it says he was accepted to Harpur, Shophie where does it say you were accepted?

Does anyone think that Binghamton will mass reject all regular decision applicants not accepted yet on April 1st? I applied to the School of Management and did not do great on the SATs (1240, 1850) but have a 100.6 average, and am an Eagle Scout (which I thought would hold weight.)

I don’t think it’s likely you’ll get denied, @binghopeful. I doubt they’ll do that.

Finally got a decision from the BU portal this morning: waitlisted. I will probably accept a spot on the wait list but put down a deposit at another school since I hear that the chances of getting picked off the wait list are really slim. It would be great for my parents financially if I made it off the wait list but I’m just going to assume I won’t be. I got into Stony Brook, Albany, Buffalo, and New Paltz (didn’t apply to Geneseo), but I don’t really want to go to any other SUNY school so it looks like it’s out of state for me!

Same hear 'Wait Listed" which really means denied if you read the stats. Looks like I’m off to New Paultz…

I haven’t heard back and Bing is my top choice. When I called the school they said they hadn’t looked at my application yet which is odd considering I applied in November. My grades aren’t as good as you need to get accepted I think, but I sent in art as well. Mildly freaking out that I still haven’t heard :/

is there any way to check the status online yet?

@jshockey The portal but it’s really bad, like mine hasn’t said anything new since November when I applied.
