I sent my stuff in around the end of November and still didn't hear back. Did anyone else hear back?

Did you apply EA or RD?

EA deadline is November 15, if I am not mistaken. That means purple’s application is in the RD pool and he/she will hear back like everyone else…near the end of March. (Some exceptions for exceptional students.)

My daughter applied RD and got her letter today. It said the regular notifications would go out in late March, but they were giving her early notice. I’m hoping this bodes well for merit aid. :-)

I applied RD and got a letter confirming that they received my application last week.

Although the letter says “While the temptation will be great, please resist the urge to contact us regarding the status of your application. These types of calls and emails take valuable tim away from the review of applications”… but knowing that you applied EA, if I were you I would still try to contact them to ask the status of my application… It is not logical that RD applicants receive news before EA applicants isn’t it?

terpishchoira - It sounds like the OP missed the EA deadline so is a RD applicant. It also seems that Fordham gives early notification to some extremely well qualified applicants which I’m guessing is the case for BobWallace’s daughter. I would not suggest calling admissions.

yeah i applied around the same time too and i got accepted call and ask them, the worst they can say is that they cant tell you online whether you got accepted or not

I’m fairly sure that the Early Decision deadline for Fordham was November 1st. My son applied for the Theatre Performance program, which requires applications by that deadline, even though they don’t notify students until on or about April 1st.

^^^^ that is a special situation stagemum. That is a specific notification for a specific and HIGHLY competitive program at Lincoln Center. All other EA applicants were notified by December 25. All RD applicants had until January 15 to submit applications and will be notified before April 1, the vast majority being in the last week of March. They mail out notifications snail mail and mail them in large batches. Be patient.

Further, everyone has until May 1 to notify Fordham of their decision to accept or go somewhere else. Don’t miss that deadline by even 1 minute. Fordham has a history of going to the wait list (which is very long) and if you miss the deadline they will assume you are not coming.

Good luck to all.

While we are also waiting for theater acceptance. I received a BLOCKED call today. It went to my voicemail…it was Fordham FA calling to let me know there was a discrepancy with my FASFA and to call them back. So, called them back to sort out my error.

So, I’m guessing he probably got into the school but know we have to continue to wait for the Theater acceptance or denial which from what we were told comes in the same envelope.

My S is a Sophomore Theatre major and he received an early “courtesy” acceptance letter to the major first in a letter…small envelope. He got it the first week of March. The official acceptance package which contained all the enrollment info, FA package, housing info, etc. came weeks later but before April 1. There was a second acceptance letter from the Theatre department in the package as well. Best of luck to all! :)

S received a letter from Fordham a few weeks ago basically telling him that as a “highly qualified” applicant he was going to receive an admission letter in April. Yesterday he received a letter offering to pay to fly him out and put him up in a dorm room in mid-April for admitted students weekend. He is highly qualified (even if Stanford SCEA didn’t think so, grrr). He also has been invited to the “special” UC Santa Barbara reception at which they apparently announce that everyone invited to the reception has been admitted to UCSB.
Good luck everyone, you are in the home stretch!

WaterWorld: If your S is truly interested in Fordham and wants to come for the weekend, I suggest that you let them know quickly. If I remember right, last year some people waited too long and the program got filled up. Good luck.

SovereignDebt - I understand that the Theatre Performance major is different, but I inferred that its application deadline was the same as the Early Decision deadline, which another post implied was later than November 1st.

They did extend the Theatre Performance major deadlines this year to basically ASAP after Nov. 1… I think my son got his in at the end of November as we didn’t realize the deadline was so early. Fortunately for us they extended it this year.

My son got a small envelope today that I’m hoping is one of the you are excepted but there is a bigger envelope coming later. Unfortunately my son is in NYC and we won’t see him until tomorrow so finding out the answer will have to wait. Fingers crossed.

^^^A small envelope for Theatre majors at this point sounds promising! Good luck! :)

So, our “small” envelope was from Financial Aid requesting the same information that they requested and had me FAX to them on Friday…Oh well still waiting here.

Oh well…fingers crossed for you!

My son is also waiting for word from Fordham. (auditioned in January for theatre program, performance track.) And, kcdunlap, we also received a phone call a couple of weeks ago regarding our FAFSA form. Like you, I am hoping that this is a good sign, although I realize it may not mean a thing. Anyway, good luck! If both of our children end up being accepted, they will have to get in touch with each other. My son would be coming all the way from Mississippi, and I’m sure he would love to already “know” someone in his class. Again, here’s wishing they both get in!

Wonderful! An applicant from the Magnolia State! I too hope he gets in and attends! Good luck.
