My son got his official acceptance to the school and the Acting program today…Depending on the FA packet he might actually have a choice when it comes to Acting programs…

^^^ congratulations! That is a very good program and very, very famous…Alan Alda, Denzel Washington, Jr…on and on…

Congrats KC. My daugther got the Finaid call and letter last week requesting some info and we are waiting on acceptance letter. Hopefully soon.

Congratulations, kcdunlap! Guess that means my son’s wait will soon be over, one way or another. Well, a few anxious trips to the mailbox are in store for us over the next days no doubt.
And sovereigndebt, there are definitely some notable performers that came from Fordham. Also, one of our family’s favorites, Patricia Clarkson, is an alum.

@livysdad That is exactly what happened with us. We received a call last week with questions regarding FASFA info (turns out I made and error that they noticed) and I had to send them the correct information. Our packet today did not contain a FA Letter but said it will arrive by April 1…

Glad this might gives my son a choice depending upon the contents of the FA letter.

So far only theatre kids were accepted…

Does anyone know the day they will release the rest of the decisions? It isn’t on the thread that lists all the release dates.

^I’m assuming that the dates will be the same for international and non-international applicants?

Fall Semester Admission
Early Action: Deadline - November 1 // Notification Date - December 25
Regular Decision: Deadline - January 15 // Notification Date - April 1

Spring Semester Admission
Regular Decision: Deadline - December 1 // Notification Date - Rolling after December 1

[International Freshman](http://www.fordham.edu/admissions/undergraduate_admiss/international_studen/international_freshm_30826.asp)

Yes I saw on the schools website that it said April 1 for RD, but that is a Sunday. I thought they usually released them at the end of March, that maybe there was a set date that someone knew.

They will send out notices snail mail. Some will hear a bit sooner…March 15 or so…but very few. The rest of the “batch” will be sent out likely around March 24. Everyone will know by April 1. They don’t mail them April 1.

There are essentially a couple of options for the accepted students orientation. One is smaller and mid week, around April 4 or 5, involving admissions people, small groups, a tour and some deans. The big reception with Fr. McShane is on April 15. Neither is mandatory. Its designed to give people a chance to see the campus, meet people and decide before the May 1 deadline. Don’t be late by one minute for accepting any offers. As of May 1 if they have not heard, they will assume you are not coming, you lose your spot and they go to the wait list.

Good luck to everyone. Expect an admit rate of around 42%.

Congrats to the accepted Theatre kids! :)

I heard back today- Theatrical Design applicant. It also contained confirmation of my Dean’s scholarship. Said that the most highly qualified applicant hear back 3 weeks early to have more time to decide.

My daughter’s letter did not mention scholarship (she was accepted for acting and playwriting.) So I wonder if that means we should assume she will not receive any merit awards… which will make it difficult to attend. Ah well. It also did not mention a program on April 4, only April 14-15.

My D accepted BA Acting. No mention of scholarship either…not gonna be easy trying to make this happen.

Did you apply for financial aid? If you filed the FAFSA and the CSS that notice will come later.

I live outside of Chicago and applied as a playwriting major. When do you think I’ll hear back?

Yea we did apply for financial aid and you are right…talked to them and we should be hearing on the FA soon.

Dan…We live outside of Chicago and heard today.

Oh, alright. Well, I did switch majors quite recently. I originally was majoring in English, but after speaking with both the Theatre department head and the Playwriting department head, I was able to get a last minute interview. My interview took place merely two weeks ago, and my writing samples were quite strong. Perhaps I’ll hear within the next week? How many playwriting applicants are accepted? Just curious. I was accepted to NYU ED but couldn’t go because of the overwhelming tuition…I know Fordham has great opportunities for playwriting, acting, etc, so I thought it’d be a good fit.

@DanThompson I heard that they accept up to 2 playwrite applicants. So if drama94 was accepted there is a chance that they will accept another 1 or 2 applicants.
