Just got my acceptance to Fordham’s BA Acting program :)

Mazel tov, JME1992!

Let me get this straight: until now, only theatre department applicants got acceptances right? Anyone else from other departments got results yet?

By the way, congrats for the ones who got in! :)

^^^^ Correct. But we are also approaching the period when a select few from the RD pool who are extraordinary applicants may be notified in an early batch. The rest will be mailed out the last week of March. Everyone will know by April 1 latest.

My son is in Arts and Science program with a Biology major. He got an acceptance letter in early February with a promise of a scholarship with an official letter in late March.

My daughter received a letter in Feb accepting her and stating that she is under active consideration by the committee on scholarship and that if she is awarded a scholarship, that notification would accompany the official offer of admission in late March. Momworried, did your child receive the same, or was there an actual offer of a scholarship in the letter?

@MomPom @MomWorried I received the same letter in mid-february assuring me of acceptance. I’m not sure of the exact language, as I don’t have the letter handy, however they did say I was in “active consideration” for scholarship, further explaining that i would receive an “Official” acceptance letter in late March.

They said that I was accepted, as a “highly qualified” applicant and they believed I “deserved to know early.”

I’m guessing this is all the same letter. If I was forced to estimate the amount of these letters, I would guess ± 100/200 ??

Ugh I just need to get my rejection already. It’s torture knowing they already accepted enough people to my program and still waiting on a letter.

Sent from my DROIDX using CC

I just got my acceptance to Gabelli school of business!! SO HAPPY :D

wow congrats!
can u please post ur stats.

Congrats!!
Does this mean that decisions are coming out on a rolling bases now?

Terpischoria,
Congrats!! Where do you live and is myFordham updated for you with acceptance?

Thanks!
My stats aren’t that good though, SAT total 1730, IB diploma predicted grade 35 (I don’t know what my GPA is, sorry). I think my ECs and essays were more interesting to them
I’m an international applicant from Indonesia… They sent the decision by email first, then they gave instructions on how tp complete the required steps (like deposits and all) on myfordham.
Good luck eveyone! And be patient :)

Wow congrats… Hope i get in too!
I’m from India so let’s see!
can’t wait!

How are people getting the decisions? Snail mail?

e-mail from some people

Fordham notifies a very few people in the RD pool by email, followed up by their acceptance packages, in an “early batch” before the remainder are mailed out. I think these are some uber stats kids with scholarships. I think most of the main batch will be mailed out tomorrow and over the weekend. Everyone will know their answer BEFORE April 1.

International students find out often by email because of the lag time in mail delivery and due to spotty delivery problems.

So for 99% of the RD pool, you will hear by snail mail and likely early next week. Good luck to everyone.

Rejected by the playwriting program, accepted to the university on a $20,000 a year scholarship. Fan-*ing-tastic. Glad I lost it to a double major in acting and a converted english major. *.

rpraderio:

You should see if they take people in the program after freshman year…in other words come to Fordham Lincoln Center and perform really well on grades and see what happens.

Or, you can become an english major or whatever and still become a playwright. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

Welcome to Fordham.

Got an acceptance in the mail today :)
