Haha yeah, I was actually emailing because there might have been some problems with my resume, so he said I should send it in via snail mail. I did, but I was freaking out because it was supposed to arrive there yesterday, so I asked him about this rumor that decisions were done yesterday, and he said that it wad definitely NOT true and there’s still plenty of time before final decisions are made. Which makes me INCREDIBLY happy because it would have been completely awful if I got rejected because of a technical glitch. Oh my gosh, I was freaking out haha. But now my fears have subsided, and I’m just continuing to count down those 15 days…

:O the admissions counselor lied to me :(

hahahahahahahahahahahaha winniehuang - sorry didn’t think it would be like that. maybe what they meant to say was that LSP’s will be notified around this time because that is the case with all the previous years. sorry love :)

Hey, it doesn’t change when we find out! It just means they have more time to reconsider my application and accept me hahaha

hahaha I think she was trying to get me to send in my stuff sooner…
"Hi Winnie,

Scared me I didn’t think my ACT scores would get there in time… deep breath :D

Wow that’s so weird that she would just flat out lie like that…

got email from NYU which said decisions will come out after the 15th and before the 31st

Oh my gosh i hate this!

So in other words, “We are planning on either completely making or completely breaking your holiday season! Best wishes! -NYU”

AFTER the 15th? Then we won’t have enough time to do our other applications! That’s not fair…

I hate that everyone is hearing different things I was told in October that they would start sending decisions on the 15th, and MOST would be mailed by the 17th. My application was completely done by the end of September, so hopefully I will be in the first group. I can’t wait any longer :/

If mine is sent on the 31st, I might go crazy. NYU adcoms, I’m warning you…

^ the 31st!!! That’s ANOTHER month away AHHHH they can’t do this to us… :(

I definitely don’t think it’s going to take that long (though that may be me just being overly optimistic). In previous years, decisions have generally come out before the 15th & it says all over NYU’s website that ED applicants will be notified BY mid-December.

Why would we find out LATER this year, when they are emailing, not mailing? That makes no sense. I don’t think they’ll screw us all over and inform us that late (some people have Jan 1 deadlines for backups). It’s probably just a technical/legal/protocol/official thing that they say up to the 31st.

directly from nyu’s website
“NYU offers two Early Decision application options for freshman applicants who are certain that NYU is their first-choice university. Students applying as Early Decision candidates will receive their admission decision after December 15 (Early Decision I) or after February 15 (Early Decision II).”

What? Haha oh my god this is so confusing. On the Freshmen Applicants page it explicitly says:

"Notification Dates:
We will notify you by the following dates:

Freshman Early Decision: Mid-December
Freshman Early Decision II: Mid-February
Freshman Regular Decision: April 1st"

I highly doubt that this will be THE year that they don’t send out decisions by the 15th.

So I just emailed the admissions counselor again… asking about when we will find out. Apparently she’s out of office though… :S

Edit: Well apparently she still responds to emails out of office!

Winnie,

We release decisions as close to December 15th as possible. We cannot guarantee that they will be sent on the 15th, but you will find out in that general time.

Best,
Katie

thats kind of relieving. i really hope we find out then.
