Who here applied ED?

@VandysApple I thought your major doesn’t affect your chances? Because you can change your major once you get into NYU… If not… I’m screwed because I applied Economics :D

@vandysapple, I applied to Steinhardt actually, for elementary education. My stats:
2000 SAT (700 M/670 CR/630 W)
32 ACT (34 ENG/31 M/33 R/28 SCI)
GPA is around a 3.75 unweighted, I have taken/am taking 6 APs, as well as accelerated math & english all four years of high school. I’m confident that I had great recommendations, but I don’t have too many ECs. Most of them have to do with working with children though, so I hope that works in my favor?

@Tessa8578, steinhardt is easier than CAS and with your stats you could have made CAS so your shot at steinhardt is very likely. Coming from steinhardt with your stats you wouldnt get lsped.

@winniehuang i dont think your major matters. youre right. i was just asking because i wasnt even sure tessa8578 was in CAS and she said she had a pretty similar record to mine.

Scared me… And I think both of you guys have very good chances of being accepted. Good luck :)

thanks so much. im sure you also do. how are your stats?

Ahh thanks :slight_smile: I’m just so nervous all the time, I wish they would just tell us already!!

A friend of mine was accepted to her ED school last week (not NYU) and she’s so excited she’s literally glowing. I’m really happy for her, but at the same time, I’m so jealous! I just want to hear back already! C’mon, NYU!

I have an interview for my third choice school on Tuesday. Worth going?

mine are kind of hard to interpret… because I do IB and our school doesn’t do GPAs
but it goes something like this:
IB predicted: 37 -> which is something around 3.6-3.7 uw, 4.3 w
SAT: 2040 (730M, 650CR, 660 WR)
ACT: 32
They’re kinda average :smiley: But I hope all my ECs will make up for it :)

and @ hannahorenstein you should definitely go to your interview! I wish NYU gave interviews… :D

I’m kind of glad they don’t…I would be SO SO nervous I’d probably screw it up so bad haha.

Really? I kinda think they would get to know me better if they talk to me… I think it’d be nice if they do interviews because there’s some people that have really good test scores but have no people skills… so there’s kind of a balance :)

Guys I got accepted to LSP (woo!) and my stats were rather average. Even for LSP. My ECs and my essay are absolutely what got me in. So don’t fret! Hang in there these next 2 weeks everyone!

LillyC, when did you get the email? And do you mind sharing your stats? :)

@LillyC: please share stats.

ALSO
this would be important to our finding out more info on lsp and nyu admissions stuff. did anyone get an lsp email at any other date besides for wednesday 12/2!!!

I would definitely do an interview for NYU if I could! I’ve had prior experience with interviews and feel I could represent myself just as well (or better) than I did through my supplemental essays.

I’ll still go to my other interview, but it’s such a hassle - for some weird reason, it was scheduled an hour away from my house, even though I live just one town over from the adcom in my area.

I did an interview for my 2nd choice, and it was def a good experience and made me feel that my chances are greater there. NYU gets too many applicants to do interviews I guess.

Congrats LillyC! :)

congrats, LillyC! any form of acceptance from NYU is very exciting. BAHHH, waiting for orientation is going to take forever!

Congrats to LillyC for early acceptance to NYU.

I have a big question for all that applied to early decision and plans to apply to colleges for regular decison:

I submitted two common apps for early restrictive action programs, but now that I am applying for regular decision, I am unable to edit the Common App I sent to colleges on November 2nd. I really want to change my personal statement on there. But every time I try to edit my application, I am denied from changing anything. Am I stuck with the same application I turned in for EDs? I really hope not, because that’s a large component of the college application.

Look on the common app website. I think there was this link that you have to go to before you can edit it again. I think it’s under frequently asked questions or “instructions” or something like that.
