Who here applied ED?

nice justspice, congrats! You must be super excited.

:D

But what do you mean by athletics? stern has athletics? [go violets!]

what was your gpa btw?

@smartbear yeah, I know! Thing is, my counselor told me not to retake it, because in CA, it’s apparently above and beyond average (for UCs mostly, she said). But she didn’t tell me that CA fails at education so much that an amazing score here is just average in stern, for example.

in any case, not much else to do besides wait.

Haha, thanks, I am excited but I’m not really going to celebrate until I get that official email. It would be nightmarish to get rejected and I’m still minorly freaking out, even though the coach has already tried to calm me down D:. And yes NYU has athletics! They are good! GO VIOLETS! haha.

My GPA was a 3.67. I had a couple C’s in math the first two years of HS. I’m convinced I wouldn’t have gotten in without coach support.

I am so freaking out about this. I’m having heart palpitations, I can’t sleep through the night, I just feel terrible all over this admission decision. Anyone feeling the same way? I felt so confident the past month, but today it all came crashing down since I didn’t get the student newsletter last week. Any last minute chancing?

I JUST WANT TO CRY SO BADLY AT THIS POINT. THAT STUPID NEWSLETTER.

@justspice

if that’s unweighted, then it’s still pretty nice.
and I know what you mean, you gotta be sure! so far, I’m trying to stop obsessing over NYU in case I don’t get in. What a heartbreak that would be.

I wonder if our state matters? prolly not, huh.

and do you play bball by any chance? -playsbballvballtabletennis-

ahh Kadosh I feel the same way! I’m so nervous about this that I can’t concentrate in class anymore and I constantly feel shaky and nauseous…there is no way I am going to finish my research paper for AP English in this condition! And now that I haven’t gotten the newsletter I am freaking out all over again. But my mail is really terrible so…hoping it just got lost?!

But you seem like you have a good chance! Don’t give up!!

about this newsletter… when did the recipients receive it?
today? and are any of the recipients west-coasters?

Don’t give any weight to a silly newsletter! That’s the last thing I’m worrying about! Not getting a spam-sent newsletter that is probably completely based off of a subscription someone unwittingly signed up for when requesting information should be the last of ANYONE’S worries right now!

everyone!
look!
hope!

Magnificent, I’m from CA and I didn’t get one. Don’t sweat it at all. We have similar stats, too.

@fluteplayer93
I hope to G-d you’re correct.

@flute You’re right; I’m pretty sure there is no correlation between the newsletters and ones standing in the admissions process.

Ugh! I cannot focus right now I’m just anticipating this so much! My stats are way worse than anyone’s so I’m REALLY hoping that my amazing EC’s, ones that have carried me throughout my entire life and shaped me as a person and are part of the field that I’m going into will make up for it!

@flute…

i think so too, I mean, I get so much- well, I don’t want to call it ‘junk…’ nothing from NYU is ‘junk’- mail from NYU that I don’t even know what to do with it anymore. The newletter’s probably one of them.

No one should be worried, especially you, kadosh. glares
Haha, jp.

@KADOSH, I’m sure it was postmarked weeks ago, when no decisions would have been final. It’s pretty much just something everyone’s getting worked up over because we haven’t heard anything clear xD

@flute: yes! high-fives
Splitters for life, haha.
Well, hopefully not for life, actually. Splitters for… now.

@Magnificent What’s a splitter? XD I’m not up on current lingo at all, hahaha.

Yeah people, newsletter shouldn’t be for 100%, so calm down.

@flute! youre in CA? me too! LA area… near claremont colleges

@itstime Yep! I’m from up north, near San Francisco :)
