Just to get the idea of how many spots are going to be there. I am on its waiting list. I am nervous!!!

I want that golden call from MIT!!!

MIT is aiming for 1040 people in the class of 2012. There were 1554 people accepted. I highly doubt that 500 people are going to reply to this.

Good luck, but this thread probably wouldn't ease your anxiety.

I'm with you Tsenguun. I'm on the waitlist too and I so want to get a call from MIT.

my daughter was accepted, but will not attend. It was not a good fit for her.

But I wouldn't regret so much even if I don't get into it, since I got into my second choice.

I was not accepted, but I am going to attend.

^^ haha a little cross-registration maybe?!? I may do the same..

Haha, that's awesome ^.^

Lol, I got waitlisted at my second-choice Cornell. The world works funny.

^^^ But you got into MIT?

@ Piccolojunior: LAWL, that is nice! I really wish we could do things like that.

Lol, I wasn't joking...

^^^
Cross-registration from Harvard eh? That's cool. No I got waitlisted at MIT too. but I would give anything to go to MIT right now.

Instead of asking everyone not attending to post on this thread, it would be a lot easier if one of the accepted could kindly log on to their MyMIT account and tell us how many people have signed the guestbook...

Preferably not how many posts, but how many posters...

Thanks in advance to any of the accepted who does it!

Accepted here, and will attend pending Harvard waitlist decision.

mathmaniac, the guestbook is not accurate. Over 1000 have signed it, but I know for sure that there are some who signed it who are not going to attend. The facebook group has nearly 900, so I would set that as the bare minimum.

^I think it should be accurate now. I declined my offer to MIT and can no longer access the guestbook in MyMIT.

^ thank you stupidkid, and now someone please tell us the exact number.

Relax...1085 by my count, but that probably doesn't mean anything, because not everyone who accepts HAS to sign the guestbook, and there's still nothing to confirm that people who declined the offer got their entries deleted. 1085 would be an slight over-enrollment for MIT, I believe.

Thank you kate25, stupidkid, and skysk!

1085 would be over-enrollment for a class of 1040, but are you allowed to comment more than once on the guestbook?

I was also under the impression that only those who have enrolled would be allowed to sign the guestbook...is that not true? If so, we may be able to reason that some have signed without actually matriculating...

Some people who declined did not take their name of the guest list. It's not automatic. My friend who is going to Harvard deleted his entry for the guest book before he submitted the decline form.

I fear of over-enrollment :(
