Who is actually going to enroll for 2011?
What colleges are you picking over BU?
Why BU?

I got in with 40k in grants... couldn't believe it.. I'm still deciding between BU and Penn State

any thoughts?

Would you rather attend college in an urban environment, not too much school spirit (no football), or in a college town, Big Ten conference, and all that entails? What are you planning on studying?

BU with that grant money is a no-brainer

Yea but I was accepted into the college of general studies, I didn't get into the school of management. I am majoring in Business. I love Penn state because of the school spirit, the football and just the amazing environment and lifestyle. Then, there's BU, in the city and I have always been a city guy. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!

general studies w/ a 40k grant - thats crazy! Scratch my previous comment, you should do penn state over gsp.

Why the sudden change in opinion? Is there something wrong with the General Studies Program that I dont know about? haha...

bu gave me a really good fin aid package..i guess it'll come down to bu vs. nyu, but i'm pretty sure i'm gonna be at bu next year =)

Strawberry I applied to NYU ED and got rejected... I wish I could go there.. lol

that sucks =( but at least you have the option of bu

i haven't gotten my fin aid package from nyu yet...but apparently they're not too good with FA so i'm not expecting as much as bu gave me

Yea according to the princeton review they are #1 in the nation where students are disaastified with financial aid.. but yea, I was obssed with NYU for like 2 years when I got rejected I wanted to go back in time, never go out and be a geek. Its okay though, I am happy with BU =)

BU, with the 5k dollar Terrier Achievement Award, is still about 10-15k more than UT Austin and UW Madison

and i think that austin and madison are prolly better schools

so probably not me

BU rocks my socks.

as of right now...going to bu would be cheaper than going to my state school...which keeps saying that i haven't sent them this form required for FA..even though i've sent it twice now. w.e

I just realized that last posting made no sense, I am not even going to bother re-wording it... just laugh at me, its ok.

i'm confused..why does it not make sense

i got into one of the schools across the river from bu, so, no

haha, I don't know.. I am in just in one of those moods

first, congratulations to everyone! i hope i see u guys on campus next year!

and jsmooth, one of my friends transferred from penn state to BU cuz she didn't like it at penn state. it really depends on what you're looking for and what you're studying too.

penn state: school spirit with football, more athletes, more of a traditional campus, state school and more students going home for weekends, probably cheaper than BU, more of an on-campus party scene, more alumni connections for jobs after college

BU: urban campus, school spirit with hockey, far more ethnically and geographically diverse than penn, moderate party scene, more city connections and resources

Thanks for the great info Nathan... what was the reason for your friend leaving Penn State?

there were too many jocks and too big of a party scene. also, she figured an urban campus would be better.
