I have seen all the people who have gotten in and i now know that i am going to attend in the fall, so i think its fitting now that most have heard decsions from all schools to start a thread for those who are going to matriculate.

so yeah, im deffinietly going there, and im going to go to CSOM

If you request Newton, you will almost definitely recieve that, along with being guaranteed a double instead of a triple. Even though taking a bus a half mile to class or walking a long way is probably a bit of a pain in the ass, I think I'm going to request Newton. I have several friends that lived there and all of them said that because it is all freshmen on Newton (40% of the frosh class), there is much more community and camraderie than at Upper. They said they made some of their best friends waiting for the shuttles (which run every 10 minutes). In addition, Newton is like a campus within itself, with lots of grassy areas, its own cafeteria (supposedly better food), and a great hill for sledding in the winter. On the whole, it is a quieter place than Upper, but because there is less supervision, it is easier to get away with having parties in the dorms themselves. If the whole shuttle thing is a huge deal for you, and you would rather be able to walk to classes and upperclass parties on the main campus, then you're probably better off at Upper.

I already mailed all the forms yesterday! I requested a roomate, and we both requested upper campus...does anyone know about requesting the roomamte....it said on the forms that they would be unable to gauruntee after may 15th, does that imply before may 15th is gaurunteed, and do i need to send anything else to request a roomate or is the forms that came along with the acceptance sufficient?

What, in particular, made you guys choose BC? Anyone considering a major in bio? I have heard that bio is not one of BC's strongest departments - do you have any reservations about that?

i am going to major in bio and thats the one concern i have too right now. My choices are narrowed down to BU or BC and i know BU has a better bio program than BC but i think i like the atmosphere at BC better and even though they dont have as strong of a bio program they do have a good acceptance rate into medical schools and stuff (which is what i want to do) i did an overnight in february and one of hte girls that i stayed with was a bio major/premed and she said even though their bio program isnt as good compared to other schools it still gives you all you need to know to get accepetd into good medical schools and she said if that was a huge concern not to be too worried about it

About newton guaranteeing a double instead of a triple, my bro lived on newton and got stuck in a triple room that had four guys crammed in it instead of three. Plus it was in the basement. Needless to say it basically looked like an overcrowded subterranean rathole.

im joining all you guys who are def going... CSOM double majoring in finance and accounting... and i requested upper cause people who i have talked to told me to request upper even tho i heard some great things about Newton as well. question for dreamer 02140, you did an overnight stay at BC? how did you do that i didnt know they offered it. can you tell me how you arranged it im really curious cause id like to do that even tho i know im attending BC in the fall.

i did the overnight stay cuz there was weekend for prospective ahana students who were accepted early action and since im asian i got to do that. It was actually what made me realize that i really loved BC and i got the whole college expereince in my three day stay.

So I'm most likely going to be attending BC... I got rejected from all four Ivies I applied to. I can't say I'm thrilled to be going to BC, but hopefully I'll like it better when I go for Eagle Days. The whole party atmosphere kind of turns me off just a little. I applied to the Ivies because I want to work really hard in college and I know that that is the atmosphere at them.

I am definitely attending... arts and sciences.. for my major i put biology with pre-med, but I know that most pre-med students actually major in English, so I might change that somewhere along the way. I think I'm also going to request Upper, because I feel that if I'm in Newton, I will first always miss that shuttle bus haha, andd I think I'll feel too disconnected from the main campus.

You do not have to declare a major until the end of sophmore year. Many students arrive "undecided" as freshman, so do not worry that you are the only one.
Our d lived on Upper as a freshman, and loved it, but everyone she knows who lived on Newton loved their experience, too. By taking the shuttle you end up meeting so many people--it becomes a really nice community on Newton.
Good luck to all of the acceptees--it was a very competitive year and all of you should be very proud to be students at a truly wonderful school!
