My S just submitted his EA app to Sewanee!! He is really excited and it is one of his top schools. He is a competitive rock climber and has summited all of the highest peaks in CA. He loves that Sewanee is a combination of rigorous academics and plenty of outdoors and nature. He will be an Environmental Science major and pre-med. He is psyched to be a volunteer EMT/Fireman. Hoping to hear good news soon!

I applied EA!

Great eferg!!! What about Sewanee do you like? It doesn’t get much press here on CC so I am always interested to see who applies.

i applied ED!

My DD applied EA at the first of November but I’ve just seen this thread today. Sewanee is her top choice school and the wait to hear back seems never ending.

Welcome CC!!! Sewanee is also one of my S’s top choices… although he did apply ED somewhere. He has never visited, but if he gets accepted he will. It sounds perfect for him. Does anyone know the decision release date for EA. I looked at least years posts and people heard something as early as the beginning of Januaury… so I hope it is that soon. I wish it were before xmas…

I applied EA. I went to the Bridge Program this past summer, and they told us the criteria for Bridge and for Sewanee were the same, and said we had a 99% chance of getting in. It’s not my top choice, but it’s definitely top 3.

I applied ED and got in!! Sewanee Class of 2016!

I have applied EA. I am from Nepal.

My daughter applied EA. It’s her top choice school. We’re dying to hear back and hoping for lots of $$$. Good luck everyone!

HaHa, I just realized I posted on a thread that I’ve already posted on. Wow, Christmas and college apps are really getting to me. As for when we’ll hear back. I noticed a lot of notification posts on January 24th last year. That seems like forever away!

My D applied EA, but not expecting her acceptance/rejection (deferral?) letter until mid Jan at the latest. Sewanee’s campus is stunning! We watched a deer run right in front of us on one visit. D’s grandparents live in TN so they attend a lot of concerts/plays and other events at Sewanee. They are very hopeful that their granddaughter gets in/decides to attend (but it also depends on merit scholarships, etc.) But that said, it’s an exceptionally beautiful and impressive school. So good luck to everyone who applied EA and who plan to apply RD!

Looking at threads from last year it looks like people started finding out decisions around Jan. 24th. I know it’s less than a month but it seems like ages still. Good luck to everyone!

D applied EA.

I notice on their website that Experience Sewanee II online registration is closed. Does that mean they are already full? Do they typically have another overnight event?

My daughter applied EA. She is an equestrian and will probably major in philosophy, English, or psychology. We visited from Norcal and she fell in love. The campus was stunning during our visit because of the fall colors, but I suspect each season has its charms. We are keeping our fingers crossed because she would really like to go there.

Congratulations Customs!

Tennesseedad, it says you can call the school. They may be doing over the phone registration only due the the spend the night nature of the event. My DD has visited twice for official tours, but never for an overnight. She has a friend from school that is a student there now. She’s just going to go up and stay the night unofficially with her for that experience. I bet if you call they will find a spot for you at ESII.

I got in ED! I am playing Field Hockey and I am (probably!) an English major.

Congratulations! When did they release the ED decisions? We’re patiently awaiting EA decisions now. From today’s blog post, [“Hold my calls—I have letters to sign!” | Sewanee: The University of the South](<a href=“Admission & Aid | The University of the South”>Admission & Aid | The University of the South), it looks like it’s just a matter of getting the mail. I wonder if they’ll be posted on the website, does anyone know?

Gulp…

Is there also an email notification???

From website:

Check the Your Messages tab to find out when your decision letter will be mailed. (Your admission decision will not be posted here on the portal.)
