Who is attending Diversity Hosting Weekend?

Who registered? Who is going?

I was invited, but I might not go.

why aren't you going?
Doesn't Cornell pay transportation and everything?

i don't know... i am not sure i want to. do you have any reason that might change my mind?
and yes they pay for the students themselves

isn't there that registration fee though?!?

Well I am going because I live in Miami and I have NO idea what Cornell is like other than in pictures. The visit will help me imagine myself in the Cornell atmosphere as well as see the facilities(architecture) and the professors and future classmates. I think it is super awesome that Cornell is paying for me (I didn't even think I was going to get in) to go visit them.

yeah, but it is forty dollars for a trip that is worth more than five hundred!

^^^ lol i guess

true, but i live in new york city, and I already have been to ithica. I can already see myself there so i don't really have a reason to go to DHW. Have fun though, i'm sure you will like it!

^^ same with me....i live in NYC and visited in early October so i don't see the need to go again. Maybe to meet potential classmates but ehh

^^ what school do you go to?

I guess it does make sense since you guys have already visited, but as for me the farthest I have been in New York State is Whiteplains so yeah...
I can't wait to go!

When did you guys receive your invites? I have already been accepted to CALS and I am African American and White. I wonder why I didn't get any invite...

i got my invite before i got accepted, on friday.

i got my invite by email yesterday; and i got a likely letter on friday by snail mail. And Degan747 i got to school in NYC.

I got my invite on friday, it was a likely/invite email. I still haven't received my acceptance letter yet.

that's strange. what college did you guys apply to?

I applied to AAP for Architecture.

I think it's really strange that I didn't get an invite. Should I call them and ask about it or just not worry?

I don't think you should worry about it, not everyone gets an invite to the weekend, everyone does get invited to Cornell Days though. I believe only like 15% get the likely letters so the other 85% don't. Dont worry, but call if youd like.
