Hi, so i transferred from a school that just came out with an 871 api score to a school with a 767 api score, and i am sooo much happier at this new school.

I plan to apply to UC's, and I'm kind of freaking out about the latest API of this new school..

Will somebody please help me understand the role of the API in UC admissions, if any? and should i be worried??

The API of your school shouldn't play much of a role. :) They're looking at how well YOU did, now how well your SCHOOL did. API is more for parents deciding which school to send their kids to and such.

It won't play any role at all. If your new school was in the bottom 20%, it would actually help you for UC. But 767 isn't that bad of a score, so it won't help you. For private colleges the answer might be different.

I don't know of a list, local papers often have lists of local schools. For instance the San Jose Mercury news will have all the schools in the south bay, lower east bay, and penninsula. There is a California State education website where you can search for schools, or www.greatschools.net lets you search for API scores by school.

I don't think colleges use API scores at all.
