Who is going or has been to the Open Houses?

I was wondering if anyone had been to any of the college Open Houses and could share with us all what it was like. Is it standard, run-of-the-mill or do we get to learn some really neat things? What do you get to see on the campus tour?

I'll be going to the Liberal Arts Open House on the 12th - if anyone's going, see ya there.

I thought the information session was better second time around. They cover everything you need as an accepted student. I went for business and they really impressed me.

The tour was basically the same, but your tour guides will have lib. arts majors. They might take you into a lib. arts building.

I personally liked the school overall second time around and we ate in a dining hall in east halls. There were a lot of students around.

There will also probably be something called ask the students where everyone there on that day can ask student reps questions. Most of it consisted of where the parties are and crap like that. They told you where they are without telling you whether or not to drink.

I went to an open house in Feb. The first time I visited last year was the information session was ok b/c I never went to Penn State for a visit and I loved it. In Feb after being accepted to UP I loved the open house. The East Hall was a little bit overwhelming. I felt like a little fish in a big pond, but after a couple of seconds I got myself together and found a table with college students. We talked for hours and I figured out that Penn State was right for me. Overall the open house was great. It wasnt for a certain college or major, just an open house for accepted students. On the tour I seen a janitor made dorm room, which was ok. I wish we would have seen a real dorm. You get on a bus and hear the tour guides talk about everything to do on campus. The most exciting thing was seeing the HUB, which was gorgeous. That was my favorite. When you see Penn State for the first time you may think it is too big, but I think if you decide to go it will get smaller as each day goes by. The tour guide girls are very pretty.
