Oh and I got into Schreyer's

Even though I may not have the standards as everyone else, but I got into the school through the EOP program for kids parents that dont make alot of money. Ive had it hard at times during my life. I will be the first person in my family to go to college, so going to Penn State Main is an accomplishment. I feel that this was my reach school and I got in. I wish you would give me more credit considering my circumstances. Oh yeah, i didnt mention I am AA.

Capital you do deserve credit. Not everyone gets into main, but all they're saying is that it seems you've just gotten by their standards-- there's nothing personal against you. I also felt that PSU was my reach school but now that it's all over, I give myself credit for being accepted. You should too.

Capitalq17 Im from a low income family....Fathers in prison, AA, blah blah blah I dont prefer to flaunt that stuff since it doesn't define me :). Im am still jealous that you got more AID than me though :((which is why I prolly wont be attending....PAY 12K!?!?!?!?:P)

That's alot of dough, but now I got a new dilemna. I just got accepted to Drew University and dont know where to go. Just need some advice. thanks

Since they are complete opposites you better plan to visit. Do an overnight (hopefully in East halls at PSU). PSU is a great school, but there are not many that are bigger. Do you want to be a face in the crowd or do you need individualized attention? What do you want to major in? How do each of these schools compare for that?
But really you should visit and find where you would be most comfortable.

PSU Class of 010

yeah and WHAT?!?

I forgot to mention AA as well.

That's a 1520 for just the math and verbal right???

yeah 2190 overall. what were your scores and grades?

Allright I guess I should have done this earlier.

GPA-it was 3.5-3.6 but now probably 3.4
SAT's -640V 630M 620W
EC -Didn't need any since I didn't fill that part out, but I didn't have very much except Basketball anyways.
Rank-- Maybe 25-30 out of 140. It would have been top 20 if I wouldn't have given up on trying for Honors Calculus about halfway through the year. Oh well, I don't really care. But I did take the absolute most challenging courses offered.

By the way, I didn't apply to any other colleges. I got into PSU a couple days before Thanksgiving and just said Screw it, there's no better place to go. Although I do have 1 regret about my whole college-choosing experience. I wish I would have applied to UCLA just for the fun of it.

Their average SAT was 1280 and I would have at least liked to write one College essay,, just to see how much a good one would have helped. If I would have got in there I most likely would not have gone anyway,, unless they offered me 10,000 a year tuition (which I doubt would have happened)) but I still wish I would have tried. I actually was about to start to apply when I went to their website around December sometime and it said the application process had ended about a week and a half before then... I even would have liked to get a rejection letter or something so I could know that PSU really was my perfect match but I can't do anything about it now.

Hoo--Humm I'm still going to PSU which isn't even close to being a bad thing.

Yeah man thats cool. Where are you rooming?

montgomery county is great. I go to wootton. You thinking about maryland vdoan? Whats your major? What made you choose PSU over UMD??

you are african american and have a 2120 from a great school system. I imagine you got into some great schools...

I'll be in East. if your talking to me.

East nice :)

Yeah I was considering Maryland, but seriously thats way to close to home. And the College Park area is just digusting. Yeah the campus is nice but i just wanted something different. PSU has been a top choice of mine since starting High School. The campus is amazing, it is ubiquitous which helps with future connections, and it is the state of the art research facility. In the end PSU was the school for me.

How do you know about room already? Did you get your FTCAP info yet and if so when did you get it?

nazhockey26. you picked psu over cornell? why?

im going to penn state..
