I’m definitely hoping I can solely rely on a bike and the bus, because I have to work all summer just so I can give at least a little money toward my tuition. No time to save for a car.

UCSB is beautiful and has good academics, I think/hope I will be happy there. I think that I’m going to do the summer start program, so that I can get to know some people before the school year starts. I’m going to try to dorm in Manzanita village. I’m still kind of debating UCI and UCSB, but i think i’ll go to SB. I already have a bike that I’m going to fix up!
Some stuff about me: 5 foot, puerto rican and white, nerd (…ddr…)

Email me if you want to add me on Face Book (: I LOVE meeting new people. Oh yeah and I am from NorCal. I live about 5-6 hours away from SB. I visited the campus on Spring Insight and loved it!

Hey hey. My name is Lucas and I am going to be majoring in communications. I am originally from Santa Cruz, but have been in LA for the last 3 years. I am a transfer student so I am a little older than everyone else, which kind of makes me nervous. But oh well. I am stoked on UCSB, I get to surf and go to class and not have to spend hours in traffic… awesome! Oh yeah, I’m a guy who is 6’1" and has dark blond hair.

if anyone here is goign to UCSB extraganza, add me on facebook Jan Fisico… it’s a FREE event for students on may 15th i think? anyways free show with ludacris, several other bands, and one band to mention, REBELUTION is playing a free show in their hometown of isla vista!!! (they all went to ucsb) anyways i know of several places we can hang out later in the day with buddies and girlfriends of mine. let me know who’s down!

I’m from the Bay Area–Fremont

Oh and I am an incoming freshman btw

HEY!
I’m 17, asian, female, 5’6", and “anorexic” according to my friends.
I’m outgoing and easy-going, I can pretty much get along with anybody. I love partying, shopping, coachella, partying, fashion, red bull, britney spears, and oh partying.
I live in LA and UCLA was initially my first school of choice because of the amazing location (and academics of course), but apparently I wasn’t good enough for that school… UCSB was a close second, so I was stoked I got in. I love LA and it sucks SB is 2 hrs away, but I’m thinking of hopefully transferring my jr yr.
I LOVE the beach so major props to UCSB for being right next to the beach! I would love to learn how to surf, so if anyone wants to teach me, hit me up!
I’m thinking of majoring in communications, I want to work in the entertainment industry…I want to entertain for a living
Anyway, I’m stoked about going to SB and I hope I’ll meet some cool people.
xo

hey, hey!! what’s up future classmates!!
looks like i’m the only latina on here, lol, but it’s all good. someone has to represent, right??? idk if i’m exactly the best representation, though, since i’m, like, 5th generation or whatever, but anywho…
just add a D and an I to the first three letters of my username and you’ll get my real name, i’m 5’6", i shall not tell you how much i weigh, because i think that’s weird and i have dark (and i mean DARK) hair and brown eyes. i got into ucsb as an english major, but i’m switching to a psychology major and i would love, love, LOVE to double in film and media studies, but idk if that’s exactly possible. if it’s not, i’ll probably be switching between the two throughout my college career, lol, since i can’t imagine a life without either. umumum… i love to party, but due to a small community in cenCal, party life isn’t much fun if you don’t choose to do it with a group of people i wasn’t a big fan of. i am usually easy to talk to as long as you’re willing to hold up your end of the conversation, but if you’re reserved, i’m reserved (not on purpose though, i tend to get uncomfortable if you don’t give me more than a sentence in response). i used to play basketball, loved it,but wasn’t very good, hopefully i’ll at least be able to join a team for fun. i love all things creative and i love to dance.

^ Haha, I like you. You seem funny.

why thank you!!..
you mean me right??? 'cause babyN seems pretty cool too :-]
and hey!! one of my best friends is amenian!!!

Haha, yes I am talking about you.

So I am definitely going to UCSB. Oh fasho! Haha! I love shopping, exploring, adventuring, laughing, and LIVING! <3 I like to live in the present and focus on the positive in life. I am VERY outgoing and open-minded and I love love love meeting new people. I like trying new things. I am a pretty simple girl and not hella high maintenance or anything like that. I love warm weather and the beach. I denied UCLA, UCSD, and Irvine for UCSB so I really can’t wait to go! I love the fact that it has its own private beach and has chill academics and pretty laid back. I don’t like super competitive atmospheres and that is another reason why I chose SB. Man words can’t even explain how excited I am to go here (;

Live, laugh, love,

Perrrsian_cat

so i’m going there for sure as well…excited to go…i got lucky my best friend opted to go to sb also…but i’ve always like the city i used to visit 3 times a year when i was younger. but yeah, i’m pretty laid back. outspoken and honest. haha do they have a debate club? i know i am joining costco club. my names erick btw…

im still looking for a doormmate

I am white, 5’9’’ female. I look like the typical European; blonde, pale skin, thin. I guess I am a mix of nerdy and social, because I like to stay home and read but sometimes I feel like going out a partying with friends.

UCSB has always been my second choice school, after Berkeley, which I didn’t get into. I got into UCD and UCI but UCSB admitted me to their honors program, so I guess I am moving to Southern California. I love the beach, and can surf but am not really great.

I am a poli sci major who eventually wants to attend law school at UCLA.

I am a little worried about the social scene at UCSB. I pretty much look exactly like a lot of the girls there, which means that I won’t feel very distinct. Maybe I will dye my hair black…ha ha. Hopefully, it isn’t a breeding place for conformity. At least people there are super nice to everyone.

Hey guys!
So this is my first post on College Confidential! I’ve been reading all the discussions about UCSB and wanted to join in. Well I am so excited to start at UCSB in the fall! I plan on majoring in Political Science with a minor in Spanish. I live in San Diego so I’ve been a beach girl my whole life. I’ve been involved in cheerleading all four years of high school, but I think I’m gonna sit it out in college. In my free time I like to read, work out, go to the beach, and of course hang out with my best friend Scott. I’m 5’7 brunette. UCSB wasn’t my first choice (I got rejected from USC), but now I can’t wait. I just really love the relaxed environment and when I went on April 4th all the people were so nice. I think it is the perfect place for me and I can’t wait to meet all of you guys!!!

I’m going to FSSP this summer. Are any of you guys going too? I just started looking at classes and I’m not really sure how many units to take?

Well I’m so glad to be a gaucho!!!

Yay!! another person going to FSSP!!!
woohoo!!!

Hello folks,

I’m an incoming Freshman for 09 and I hail from Redding CA. I’m majoring in English through CLS, but I’ve got an app pending with CCS for English Lit as well. To be honest, my first pick was Berkley, and I’m not sure how well I’ll do with the social scene in UCSB. I’m pretty introverted and I spent my four years of high school without a girlfriend, any partying, or any drugs/alcohol of any kind. I’m thinking that may change at UCSB, but we will see if I’m able to move outside my comfort zone. I don’t really play any sports, but I’ve been in martial arts since age four and I have a black belt in American Kenpo and a brown belt in a TKD/Shaolin Kenpo hybrid. I’m about 5’11, 140lbs, brown hair. Anyways, I’m heading in with about 44 units already done, so I’m wanting to either double major or graduate in three years. I think the relaxed environment will do me some good and my plan is to take advantage of it as best I can.

I’ll be doing FSSP. I’m pretty excited =)

Yea, anyways, be kind. I’m sorta moving outside my environment (both physically and socially) for UCSB…not that that is a bad thing.
