I am so sick of it, I am sick of worrying and wondering. Sometimes I think that i should just apply to state schools and forget HYPS type schools. It seems like this is ruining my "teenage years"....

anyone else feel the same way?

anyone else feel the same way?

Hahahaha, your not alone. I actually enjoy the competitive feelings i feel at school to an extenct. I don't feel like its ruining my teenage years since i play my favorite sport with my friends. ;p

Me... I don't want to write essays....and worry about sending them in on time. and bothering my guidance counselor the first day of school..

I'm NOT applying to HYPS. All of my friends are "shocked" but... whatever. I hate Harvard*.

*no offense to those who are applying/attend Harvard.

HYPS would be great schools to get into, but they aren't very practical unless the prestige alone will actually benefit you significantly.

I don't like those who apply to HYPS!

Makes me sick!

I don't mind if someone applies to ONE of the four... but, the schools are so drastically different in atmosphere and strengths that when someone applies to HYPS, it's obvious that said person is just doing so for the prestige... euchh.

All the people going after HYPS make me laugh a little inside... you can find the education elsewhere, so why bother with the prestige and stuffy atmosphere?

Yes, and I haven't started yet.

Caltech for the win!!

I'm sick of worrying about the whole process. This is why ED is such a nice thing to have... although rejection isn't going to pretty if that occurs in December =[ Deferral is probably just worse, in a sense.

I haven't even started and i'm tired.

I'll just apply to 2 or 3 schools! coz i'k too lazy!

I have just now, as of a few seconds ago, come to the conclusion that this whole process is ridiculous and insane. I should have realized this 2049 posts ago. :D

Has an institute of higher learning ever been just that - an institute of higher learning?

I am a prestige whore at its finest.

From a family where virtually nobody has ever gone to college, I'm not going to be one to shell out thousands of dollars to amount to nothing and say I graduated from a no-name college.

What defines fit for me? Prestige. I can adapt to anything. Anyone who wants to ***** about that can go jump off a bridge.

It's damn hard for a person of color to be taken seriously in the corporate world where the serious cash is made, and it certainly won't help if I got my degree from the local state university. Being from a school of HYPS's caliber can make all the difference.

This is not debatable, it's my opinion, and a harsh reality that many people won't accept. :)

um, i'm already sick of it, and i haven't even STARTED.

me too..:[

Good job, Armando. I commend you for not being PC! :)

I actually agree with most of it. Prestige really does matter. Some people just don't like to admit it.

Yeah Armando said it perfectly. If prestige didn't matter I don't think most of us would be on cc.

Wow, I never thought of it like that. Now that I think of it, that's exactly why I'm on here.

And thanks aquamarinee, I was expecting my first responder to be a prestige flamer.
