Who is this masked man?

Is this the superintendent? From the Army-Navy pep Rally. Very funny!

That would be him!

My Plebe is convinced that he is a kid at heart.

I am IMPRESSED! I would love to be the one in the Bill the Goat costume!

Who handles the furry little beast (the real one, not the supe)?

great photo Mom2... I'm hopeful that someone will be taking photos of our plebes through the summer and posting them, so we have an opportunity to search for our little darlin's faces/bods on the sly. I know I'll take photos anytime I'm near the Yard, and hopefully, others will, too. I'm printing a copy of this to put next to S's letter, which arrive in USPS yesterday. The paperwork begins... And, I guess I'm scheduling a date with the dentist for wisdom teeth... (argh)

The women are great. One has a Plebe, the other an 07 but may also have a Plebe. Hopefully, they will continue as it was one of the best ways for us parents to get a glimps of our Plebe's summer. There will also be a professional photographer who will take pictures and video throughout the summer and you will be able to order things from them. They do charge a fee to just see the pictures but if you do order that fee is applied to the order. Many of us ordered T-shirts with our Plebes Company Photo on them and wore them for PEP on PPW.

Now THAT foto is fantastic. No kidding! Talk of "getting your goat!" Lola's Mom, GlitterHairDye, and the Whistle Pig know why the '71'. Anyone else know its history?

Yes, it's nice to know the Admiral Supe is indeed human. And you know he takes alot of heat, deserved and mostly otherwise, but he has to be an amazing man, great American, and outstanding officer of the United States Navy. As has been noted here, longest serving surface warfare officer in the USN with over 40 years of dedicated, distinctive service.

And you know what, in our home we'll forever cherish and honor the one letter my son has received with his signature at its bottom ... inviting and welcoming him into the greatest fraternity on the face of the planet in all of the world's history.

Thank you Admiral Rempt for all you've done for all of us!

"contributed two new four-legged mascots and a new uniform for the two-legged "Bill."

PERFECTAMUNDO! And thanks ProfMom!

I was confident one amongst this knowledgeable bunch would share this tastee tidbit of trivia!

Greatest Fraternity in the world? My friend, I don't believe you have ever heard about the (in)famous Kappa Pi Sigma fraternity. A bit easier to get in, yes, but much harder to leave, and when you do leave, it's with some actual real world experience, not some joke of spending a week on a Navy ship following around an officer saying you have been to sea.
It's a real thing to...
Just go into any bar in a port or on any US ship and you will see one of the brothers has left a mark. I think we have some on the pyramids as well, but thats just a rumor.

Has F Troop arrived?

McHale's navy??

Go Goats! Whoop Woops!!

And now we have our answer aboout the "71"! Thanks Peskemom. That "tastee tidbit", as WhistlePig put it, is something my family has been trying to find out for quite a while now! I had even called the football office. You get a gold star for todays work! :)

About frats.. where did that come from?

^^^^^ The answer would of been from me :)

Get used to it your child is about to join the largest fraternity in the world! It may not call itself a "Fraternity" but in reality it is, no matter how you look at it. You can use it to describe USNA one Fraternity, USN the National organization, The US Military..the mothership!!

And mine was bound and determined when he went off to college no way no how was "he" joining a frat...and look where he ended up, joining the largest in the world!!!

WHOOPS! I meant PROFMOM2! Sorry!

And I agree.. what I meant was.. where did the FRAT comment come from .. from the KSIG person above? Very out of the blue. But anyways...

My daughter actually passed up being in a Sorority at college this year in her hopes of the appointment, as why be in a sorority when she could be part of that Largest Fraternity in the World! :) An honor indeed! Dream come true.

I Think we have free thinker...

The Sigma Kappa Pi Fraternity, which stands for Samahan ng Kabataang Pilipino, being a nationalist and service-oriented brotherhood, seeks to bring down the walls of exclusivity surrounding fraternities and be one with the masses in order to serve them better. In the process, we necessarily seek to avoid the violence that accompanies vain and petty squabbling. - Wikipedia

Why are you ripping the Merchant Marines Ritchey?
What military fraternity did you belong to?
Opinions come cheap when a person experiences them second hand.
Just what theater Pig (besides the Pittsburgh), did you ever serve at?

 please do educate if we have missed the boat so to speak.

profmom2-

I'm on the pier with you.

Posters on this thread are so daggone elite, I'm not sure I can.

I would hardly call myself elite and really would like to know if I am missing something here.

....so willing to hear what you have to say.

Anyone seen Zaphod?
