My daughter is interesting in Gustavus Adolphus College MN.Anyone know about this school since there is not much information on this college's forum. Thanks!

Is there something specific you are interested in knowing? The college is extremely proud of its Swedish Lutheran heritage and hosts a huge Nobel conference.

I hope to know the dormitory condition ,weather, academic and the envirnment around the school etc. What are the students usually doing in their free time.

The weather will be like people post as the weather for Carleton (close by) or Macalester (not much further away); winters will be cold and snowy. You might find people who know more about Gustavus if you also post on the University of MN section of the forum; there will be students who have friends or siblings who go there or parents or students who may be considering Gustavus in addition to the U of MN. Minnesotans are nice people. Snow can be fun.

Gustavus doesn’t get a lot of love on CC but it’s a pretty darned good LAC. In Minnesota it’s considered a major rival of St. Olaf, and on a pretty similar plane academically. The difference is that St. Olaf is Norwegian Lutheran and Gustavus is Swedish Lutheran—a subtle difference to many people, but if you’re of Nordic extraction it’s huge. Gustavus doesn’t have as much name recognition outside Minnesota, except possibly among Swedish-Americans. But I’ve encountered several grad students who did their undergrad at Gustavus, and in my judgment they were every bit as sharp, disciplined, and well prepared as about any I’ve seen.
