Would anyone at my school (counselor, academic dean) know my SAT score? I feel like they would not, but I am curious to know if they have access to it.
College Board automatically sends your scores to your high school.
Yes, your school gets your scores. In the past, not sure if still, the score comes with “stickies” that the GC puts on your “score sheet” record.
^^ I know what you mean by “stickies”. I guess that dates us.
I do. It was a 1430. Pretty respectable. You should proud…sorry, I’m feeling a bit silly this evening.
College can buy bands of scores for marketing purposes. Let’s say they are looking for students in the 1300-1450 range and hailing from the SW US. They pay the college board a fee for a database that gives them your name and address with the assurance that you fit their profile. The school then sends you targeted marketing to entice you to apply there. They don’t EXACTLY know your scores, but they do know you fit the demographic.
