My daughter got (what I think is) her mailing address today. The format reads like U1-2A34A. The "U1" is Unit 1. What's the rest mean? (Actual numbers have been changed to protect the innocent ;))

hmm, when I went into Bearfacts-->Personal-->Address-->Local Address, I got mine like

RM XX-204 [hall name]

Is this what you were asking about?

I got the same format as you, Indian! Does 204 mean you're on the 2nd floor?

Yup. What hall you in?

Griffiths. You?

Davidson. Same Unit :)

I'm on the 2nd floor as well :) I wanted to be high up, but hell, now we never have to wait for the damn elevator!

You know the original "glitch" code, I was supposed to be in Davidson 503. Demoted =/

Totally understand what you mean about the elevator though.

Hmmm...I guess I need to be more specific. Hers was:

FH#-#A##A

So, Foothill Bldg. #X, then what? Maybe the single digit number followed by A is the floor and wing; second double digit number followed by A is room number??? She knows she's in a double but would really like to know how many rooms/total occupants in her suite.

i got 8th floor priestley.. is that the highest floor? woot for stairs. Is it coed?

Yup that's the highest, and it's coed. or at least it was last year

= building number

= letter for sub-building, not everyone has one
@ = part of suite code
! = room letter

FH#-#@@! generally means a first floor suite in most cases (or second floor for building 7 which has no dorms on its first floor) and hence your first @ is a 1 (2 for building 7)

FH#-#*@@!

*@@ is your suite code, ! is room letter. The first @ indicates your floor.

SB-803, does that mean 8th floor of Spens-Black?

In Unit 2, Griffiths Hall, is the first floor the ground floor?

for all the units, the first floor is NOT ground floor. the first floor is actually above ground floor. as for the example of "SB-803," this not only means that you are on the 8th floor, but also that you are in room 803.

Floor numbering goes L-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8.

so for clark kerr suites, does this whole L thing apply?

i have a 100 room number...

How do we get the room assignment information?

Go to bearfacts, look at your personal information - addresses - and you will find that Cal has put down your mailing address which lists the hall and room in the first line.

Is the 5th floor of Freeborn single-sex or coed?
