If Michigan beats OSU, it gets auto bid to the Rose Bowl. But where does that place OSU? OSU would have a 10-2 record, which would likely be good enough to put it in another BCS bowl. However, two schools from the Big 10, would likely eliminate a second Pac-10 or SEC team.

Pac-10 is better off having two schools in BCS bowls for a higher payout.

Cal's recent play hasn't helped Oregon's case for a "quality loss" by the computers. Oregon better hope Cal beats Washington and Stanfurd to improve their case. Especially if Kansas wins out.

OSU's consolation prize doesn't look so bad, if they win either.

I posted this question on the Michigan board, but didn't get a response: I wonder why the Big10 wraps up their season so early?...at least a couple weeks before the Pac-10 and SEC do...SEC of course has a championship game. But, I think the long layoff is a disadvantage to Big10 schools heading into a bowl game. We saw what happened to OSU and Michigan after their long breaks last season.

It's funny, on football message boards, West Virginia fans were so pumped they'd get an at large big to the Rose Bowl, since OSU would go the championship game. OSU killed that for the WVU fans.

Ya, I really like the classic pac-10, big-10 matchup in the rose bowl. i went last year (to root for michigan of course), and it was so awesome, there was like an unspoken rivalry between the conferences.

So where would WV land though, if Michigan wins?

Sheed: I've watched those top 5 a lot this year, and Oregon is by far the most dominant and exciting. It would be a shame if they didn't make it in.

Only way I see Oregon staying in the top-2 is obviously by LSU falling in the next three games or by the Big XII champion falling this week. By that, I mean the eventual champion falling in action this week, because if not the Big XII champ has a real good shot of jumping Oregon. Especially were it to be Kansas....if the Jayhawks win out they'll be at least #2.

Pac-10 running backs are holding it down in the NFL: Maurice Jones-Drew, Reggie Bush, Marshawn Lynch.

Hey, don't forget about former USC RB's LenDale White and Justin Fargas. Both of them actually have more yards rushing this season than does Jones-Drew.

Misleading. White has 77 more carries than Jones-Drew and has only 89 more yards. White has a below average 3.5ypc whereas Jones-Drew has an excellent 5.3ypc.

Bush's running ability is overrated, a 3.8 ypc. I do like his receiving skills though.

I don't even want to see us go to a bowl game, quite honestly. I want the season to end so we can get Dorrell out and start educating a new HC. And besides, no one gives a crap about the lesser bowl games, anyway. It was Rose Bowl or bust and we've gone over 21 for the last time..

I don't think LSU will lose. But Kansas has a good chance of losing to Missouri, which means it could very well be LSU vs Oregon for NC game. As for the Rose Bowl, it will probably be Ohio State vs ASU, but I am not sure about this one because USC might be able to beat ASU next week.
