Who sends the application?

My school charges 25 dollars for every application sent after the third one.

Must my applications be sent through the school? Can't I just get everything I need (school report, recs, transcript) in sealed envelopes and mail it all in a 9x12 envelope by myself?

What's the procedure?

bummmmmmmp help please?

Every school has different procedures. You will have to check with your school to find out. In most cases, the schools will send transcripts and recommendations directly to the colleges.

your school makes you pay!!!!!!!!???........wow. ( this is not sarcasm, i really am shocked)

ya, that's a lot of money. I don't know if I have to send it through them though. Does anyone ever send the app from his/her house?

and my school refuses to rank, they're kind of bugging me right now!

You either mail the app yourself or do it online (easier), but transcripts usually need to be mailed from the school.

does your school really mail the whole application? usually not their job

and that fee is outrageous, if I was your parent, I would wonder....is this a private or public school

large public

ya, i think the fee is outrageous too, especially since I'm applying to 10. :)

some public high schools in this country are straight out of Nazi-Germany or Moron-Land, or somewhere in between =</p>

Do you mean your school send the transcript, rather than the application? You send the application- most of the time you can do it online. The only thing your school needs to send is the transcript and guidance counselor report.

Ok. In that case I'll send it myself. And if they want 25 dollars for every extra transcript and school report... wow.

that sucks.

I thought my school raising lunch prices by 50 cents was crazy, but this is just a mad attempt by the school to get more funds - imagine, hundreds of kids applying to extra schools x 25, = $$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter's school charged $25 for every application after the 6th one. There was also a transcript fee after a certain number. 6 is a lot more reasonable than 3, though. (This was at a very, very large public)
