not surprised with my results after reading some of the other people's stats. happy that i maintained a great social life though :p

My D sent an appeal to UCSB. She wants to go there so badly and has wanted to as long as she can remember. I spoke with admissions office today...they won't send results until after May 2. They have had so many appeals that it is almost like going through the admission process again. It doesn't look good :(

^^Really? That many to UCSB? Surprising. Thanks for passing the info, I'll value my admission more knowing that.

Congrats mega! Hope you enjoy being a Gaucho.

Thanks ucmom, good luck with your daughter's appeal.

i got waitlisted by stanford...though i guess thats not really rejection. but my philosiphy is that if they didn't want me there, then i don't want to be there, so screw em! hah

BigGreen, did ucla give you any grants or financial aid?

crosses fingers

I sent a financial aid appeal to Duke University and I heard back and the news was wonderful! I think that is what this post is about! But yea, I was so happy. I hear it is best to send in an actual letter as opposed to an e-mail, but I guess it is too late.

Does anyone know where ucsd and ucb post their decisions? Will it be online? Their sites don't even state that they've received your appeal like UCLA does... So I can't even tell if I'm rejected again or if its just the original decision.

I sent mine in April 12th, anyone know when they'll b done?

Hey Smart...I don't know how ucb and sd post, but I spoke with ucsb and they said they will notify by mail after may 2. They also do not post anything online that says they received an appeal. They might change the page from "not admitted" to "admitted" but the person I talked to wasn't sure. It is so hard to wait...best wishes for a successful appeal!!

uc berkeley actually does post their decisions online, if you log in to where your original decision was posted, theres a little box above it stating your appeal status. UCSD on the other hand, i dont see anything and im kind of worried.

Well, I appealed to UC Davis. I was wondering if it is really hard to get into appeals. ALthough UC's try to discourage it, I still know a lot of people who have been admitted by appeals. I was looking at one site and they said like only 50 out of 800 appeals are granted. But i know tons of people who have been admitted. I dont know....

sydney where is the little box on ucb's decision site? I can't find it. All mine says is march 31, 2005, and the original rejection letter under it.

by any chance can you copy and paste the ucb rejection letter?

the litte box is directly above the original decision. It says that by the latest decisions will be posted by may 1st and to check back regularly.

anyone hear from davis today? they supposedly try to post some today.

I'm an unlucky transfer student going to community college as of now... and been rejected by my #1 choice UCSB... which i've been wanting to go to for years now! i'm getting together what i need to appeal... i'm not sure if transfer appeals are mixed in with freshmen appeals when the decisions are made, and i had just gotten my denial 2 days ago, so i'm barely gettin together an appeal, which according to the admissions lady is O.K as long as it's sent in by May 2nd... anyone got any suggestions?

why do you think you were denied admission? Were you on the "guarentee transfer program?"

Just curious...glad to help, but need more info.
