Who Still Hasn't Heard Back?

Food science, still haven’t heard back.

I applied 10/30 for Civil Engineering and I still haven’t heard back yet…
My stats: GPA (weighted)- 4.1; SAT-1930; SATII-740, 800; good EC’s

Yesterday I actually called the admissions office and they said it takes 2-3 weeks for all of the decisions to come out, so it doesn’t mean you’re going to get rejected. They just said to be patient and wait. Cal Poly was never my first choice so it makes me nervous that I haven’t gotten in yet. If I can’t get into SLO, then I’m never going to get into the UC’s that I applied! :(

Back in the '70s my husband’s roommate got denied by Cal Poly, but he got accepted to Stanford. Maybe the fact he was able to send in essays helped him at Stanford. Or maybe his major was impacted at CP. Point is, if you wrote decent essays for the UCs that might help you get in (if Cal Poly doesn’t come through.)

Siiiiigghhh ToT STILL waiting  even though this is just the sad long long beginning (of the wait!) I’m still really nervous…
My friend got in today! Which made me go like grrr -__- We both have pretty similar stats except she has better grades and I have more ECs (although I’m pretty sure that for my case it doesn’t matter… so… she has better stats hehe nvm)
So do they send out an email notification or something?

sunnybanana, there is still hope! good luck.

sunny
check your portal

Applied in early October, still waiting. Aero Engineering

hey all.
very jittery lately. wondering if anyone has heard back for kenisiology major. i have been scouring the site but looks like no one out there has been accepted. 1970 SAT 3.9 GPA. EC’s+volunteer+2 year job. what more can i do. lol. good luck to everyone.

cconn, 2Leashes’ daughter got into Kinesiology on Feb 10. She had high stats. Your stats are almost exactly like mine and I haven’t heard yet either, and I applied Oct 6. I read on another thread Cal Poly SLO Kinesiology only accepts 50 students a year or something insane.

I was just going to reply back, but I see nonmilitantvegan beat me to it. I haven’t seen many other kinesiology acceptances here yet, so maybe there are several spaces yet to be filled. Of course, I realize that not EVERYONE out there comes to CC, though. She applied Nov. 6. Good luck to you! BTW, there’s a thread that says something like: “Got accepted to Kinesiology!” Check back in Nov. 10.

sigh anyone out there losing hope? I guess I’ll have to just have to settle with a community college and hope that I can transfer to a four-year…

I haven’t heard back either for Psychology. I think its a very impacted major and that is why.

What does an “impacted major” mean? We are from out of state and I have not heard that term before. Everyone else on the thread seems to know what that means.

http://www.calstate.edu/sas/annual-publications/documents/ImpactedProgramsMatrix.pdf

"An undergraduate major or campus is designated as impacted when the number of applications received during the initial filing period exceeds the number of available spaces. Such majors or campuses are authorized to use supplementary admission criteria to screen applications.

There are subtle, yet important, differences between major and campus impaction. Major impaction means that the number of applications from fully eligible students to a designated major on a CSU campus during the initial filing period far exceeds the number of spaces available in that major. However, students can still be admitted to the campus in an alternate major, or they may eventually be admitted to the oversubscribed major if they meet the supplementary admission criteria. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo continues to be impacted in all majors."

if you dont get into cp, i hope you applied to ucsc. the school is filled with rejected cp and cal applicants lol
