I'd say that's pretty accurate.

show off, bleh

what does that equal anyway? something really high? like 132,000%? like my viagra dosage?

I say you have a chance of exactly -e^(pi*i)/2 of getting in chicago.

That's cold.

Reptilian-like coldness.

bill nye the science guy...bill nye.

"I think you should grow the **** down from your finger-pointing pedastool, dick."

luckily, your thoughts are not respected.
but you're right, as long as you make immature posts i am on a pedastool above you (along with everyone else on this board, excluding booptroop).

"matty boy forgot to take his constipation pills this morning."

i bet you giggled when you typed constipation, didn't you?

"
I say you have a chance of exactly -e^(pi*i)/2 of getting in chicago.

That's cold."

Actually, that's not cold at all. its 50%

"i bet you giggled when you typed constipation, didn't you?" - If it did then that would have been enough.

As an apparently immature person, do you see me going out of my way to condemn the abundent of motonous posts there are in CC. I never rolled my eyes at your method, I simply offered a different one thats suits me. Who are you to declare what CC should or should not be like.

And as long as immaturity makes me smile, I don't see any reason not to be immature. Your reaction just augments my immaturity. You're like the guy with the porch where people put flaming bags of **** and watch to see how you respond. It's fantastic.

"If it did then that would have been enough."

you just referred to booptroop as an "it". i like your style.

"As an apparently immature person, do you see me going out of my way to condemn the abundent of motonous posts there are in CC."

i don't know what you're talking about. i never condemned someone on cc.

"Who are you to declare what CC should or should not be like."

i never did.

"Your reaction just augments my immaturity."

Obviously not, judging from your three paragraph, somewhat mature response.

"You're like the guy with the porch where people put flaming bags of **** and watch to see how you respond."

i don't freak out and start cussing at people like you do... so i don't know what your talking about.

You know, all matt-Hubris said at first was 'grow up' and you replied

"Jesus Christ, it is almost impossible to have an immature thread in this UChicago forum without catching **** from uptight pseudo-intellectual ass holes who can only enjoy themselves when other people think that they are as intelligent as they constantly say they are.

Grow up?

I think you should grow the **** down from your finger-pointing pedastool, dick."

You must be really bored with life. Were you having a bad day or something? Or do you just like arguing with people?

matt_hubris never declared what CC should be like...

You seem to be sick of the abundent monotonous posts in CC...if you don't like it why don't you simply go to other forums? You will probably tell ME to go to another forum, but CC is a place for information about colleges. I think it is usually very good at providing information, and I don't think there are a lot of other forums that are just as good, whereas there are a LOT of forums that are how you want CC to be like, so I just think it would make more sense if you chose to express your 'immature' thoughts on those while posting other mature and informative posts, that you sometimes have as well, here. It just seems pretty simple and logical to me.

Then again, that would be the 'mature' thing to do....oh well.

Umm...what's with all the antagonism?

GROUP HUG!!

Seriously, we're all in the same boat here.

Actually, that's not cold at all. its 50%
[/quote]

And THAT'S cold...I told you I suck at math! (jaykay, I think you're cool!) Eh, it still is kind of cold -- 50%. "You're not good enough to get outright accepted, but you're also not bad enough to be downright rejected. You're in limbo -- mediocre limbo. Yay!" (This is me trying to wiggle my way out of feeling stupid.)

The "it" I referred to would be the action of the immature statement (if constipation made him laugh, it - saying it- would be enough), not booptroop....but, as far as I know he very well could be an it.

"Grow up..." is a derogatory statement of my maturity and by suggesting that I should grow up, which is to say no longer being immature and therefore ceasing my immature threads, you are in fact implying what you think the content of CC should be like...as for jacknjill, he/she/it has made it very clear what he/she/it believes CC should be like.

My statements of my own immaturity were mostly sarcastic. My immaturity acts more in spurts.

I wasn't aware I freaked out, I apologize for becoming temporarily insane. In any case, it was both you ("grow up....") and jacknjill "Can you please stop posting trash?" who started this argument, not I or anyone else. Both statements are immediately offensive. Although I DO admit to unecessarily continuing it, but we're all guilty of that (you have to admit though, this is somewhat fun - regardless of what we think of one another).

Yes, I do enjoy arguing with other people. You're providing me minutes upon minutes of entertaining. You don't have to rub in the fact that I have no life. By the way, UChicago practices the Socratic method to a heavy degree, so I think that my contentiousness is a good quality.

I, unlike you, would never, ever, NEVER ask you to go to a different forum. In fact, I find it ironically immature of you to even suggest that. I think CC does provide excellent information. But I don't think that forums should be seperated completely into BLACK and WHITE. I'm just trying to suggest a forum that merges both information and a good sense of humor.

The 'mature' thing to do isn't pushing away people who differ from yourself. The mature thing to do would be to reconcile the styles into a successful mixture. Other universities on CC have done this very well.

In any case, I think a step of compromise in order. I apologize for any offensive comments I've made towards either of you, in this post or previous ones. I cannot however apologize for any future acts of immaturity.

Why would someone be offended by a derogatory statement regarding their maturity if that person admits with pride to posting immature posts? I find it interesting that you don't think forums should be separated completely into black and white while all of your posts are either completely irrelevant or informative, and I was going to reply earlier saying that I too don't think a forum should be all white/black and I welcome humor, only I believe that information regarding college is more important.

I'll admit to starting the argument, but it would make sense for someone to be annoyed at people constantly talking about unrelated stuff rather than someone to be annoyed at people constantly giving information about colleges on CC...At least imo.

"it would make more sense if you chose to express your 'immature' thoughts on those while posting other mature and informative posts, that you sometimes have as well, here."

I didn't say you should leave CC forever and never look back... I said you should post completely unrelated and immature stuff on other forums while continuing to post good, informative stuff here, like you occasionally do. Again, I recommend the Something Awful forums it costs about 10 bucks to get in but its a really great place and Im sure you would love it. I go there a lot.

I'm not trying to stop you from posting here because you are different from me. It's more about the actions you took rather than your personality...This isn't a "blue is better than green, how can you possibly like green? get out of my forum" kind of argument, it is more of a "a forum that aims to educate people about colleges shouldn't degenerate to a forum filled with meaningless threads about completely unrelated things".

Thank you for apologizing about all the offensive things you said. I welcome your immaturity, as long as it's more organized into a couple of threads rather than being scattered across the whole forum, and I recommend the CC Cafe. Here's to hoping we meet in Chicago next year. That would be interesting although I doubt Ill get in. Well see.

Hey Andi,

I meant no disrespect. It's just that when I saw the awkward use of "e" to express someone's admissions chances, I figured that he had done it to equal something truly cold, like a negative number. So when I saw it was just 50%, I was surprised. But I will concur, his 50% thing is somewhat cold, and im sure your chances are much higher than that.

blah blah blah

Yeah, I saw the negative sign and immediately thought it would be a negative number, but apparently, I'm wrong. You have to admit, though, that's pretty clever.

ohh it was, alright.... shows the kinda kid that's wanting to go to a place like UofC

a krazy kid....

A true hater of fun...
