<p>I play soccer for my school, and played tennis as well... but I know so many idiots who play sports, like it's their life (which is what I think the OP was getting at). And sure there's the possibility of their athleticism getting them recruited, but most of these guys won't be recruited. The truth is, it all really depends on the person, because some people are jocks to be jocks (aka it makes them popular) and others do it because they like the sport. So this operates on a case to case basis (obviously).</p>
