Everyone seems to be saying he is too young and inexperienced and he is just hype. I think he may surprise you. Correct me if im wrong but werent similiar things said about JFK. He was too young and passive but he surprised a lot of people. Also similiar things related to experience were also said about Lincoln. It seems to some of our better presidents received a lot similiar criticizm.

Oh yeah, Bay of Pigs and the Civil War (and the eventual suspension of Habeas Corpus) were great

Obama just lacks the charisma that people are looking for. Which is why he got bill clinton to make that huge speech for him...

McCain is too old I would say. He just doesn't seem to get it. In fact, I think he lives in the past. Obama , on the other hand, seems wise, thoughtful, shows vigor, judgement, and a capacity to learn and think on his feet.

Pro28: have you forgotten of the Cuban Missile Crisis (JFK saved us from WWIII) and the ending of slavery and the reuniting of our country. The south suceeded (forgive the mispelling) during Buchanan's presidency, Lincoln brought it back together.

Yes, because we all know know the Civil War was entirely Lincoln's fault.

Lincoln has been rated by most often by historians as the best President in our history and almost always in the top 3. We don't know what JFK would achieved had he lived longer. Reagan and Clinton were both accused of not having much experience but both were re-elected and America has a positive view on both. Especially since McCain will bring 4 more years of the past 8 years I think we should give Obama a try.

I am pretty sure that ten years from now ppl will look back on Bush's presidency with a much better light. The biggest "mistake" the Iraq war is turning out tremendously well. Barack Obama even said the country had a surplus of 75 billion dollars, stability is returning to that country and things are going to get better. What he failed to mention was the thing that turned around the situation in Iraq was the surge, which he opposed. Other then that, the economic things are not his fault. Take the housing crisis, he did not have a direct role in that. Or look to the energy crisis, that is a result of more competition (although he had a hand in that), but more importantly the media and to a lesser extent Democrats are overstating the state of our country. The very first thing our AP Economics teacher told us was that our economy was strong with growth in the last quater of about 3%.
Bush's policies have made us safer. The old linkages of terrorism were distrubed and by forming an ally in Iraq, right next to Iran it means that if Iran does attack we can have a strategic place to attack them. Couple that with our alliances with Pakistan (despite their terrorist activity) means that we are building stronger political allies in the middle east. We also have Saudi Arabia, UAE, and several other strong middle east allies because of the economic exploration in that area.

...And yet everyone hates Bush...since we are all so ignorant...
Fact is, he's responsible for what happens whether he likes it or not. We are in a deep economic recession, people are losing their houses, and people are dissatisfied with the Iraq war. It hasn't made us any safer, it has only poured money into Iraq which could be used for something like universal healthcare. Privatizing SS scares the you know what outta people. Also, some people think Bush is something of a moron and a disgrace to America. People don't hate Bush for no reason. If McCain held your view that everything was all right under Bush he would say I'd continue the Bush years. However, Clinton was excellent and Obama has alluded to bringing back prosperity and showing what happens when you apply Democratic theory.

Sig Saucer, that would make sense, but McCain is controlled by Party Republicans who still seem to think that things are ok, our economy is strong, and that people "whine" too much. If it was so simple, Bush would have stopped being Bush lol.

^Arguably one of the worst thing Bush has done is ruin this country's reputation abroad. The international community abhors him and his administration.
When you have the entire world bashing a single individual, you know he must have ****ed up BIG TIME.

America used to be at least somewhat marginally respected, now...

Bay of Pigs worried Castro, who pushed for closer Cuban-Soviet relations afterward and asked Khrushchev for protection.

He approved Khrushchev's plans to build nuclear missiles on Cuba, and we had the Cuban Missile Crisis.

After the Crisis, Kennedy was quoted as saying, "I chopped his balls off," referring to Khrushchev. To be honest, I don't see why Kennedy was such a great president.

Some people don't think we landed on the moon. There will always be conspiracy theorists.

Quote:

"Hahaha

I saw the Magruder video of Kennedy getting pwned. The fact that there were network TV cameras is another good reasons to suspect that the government was involved in this."

^For many of us who, like me, are old enough to remember the tragedy of JFK being assassinated (the term is not "pwned") and the national mourning that followed, yours is frankly a disgusting, disgraceful and disrespectful post. Show a modicum of decency and a little respect, or please keep your thoughts to yourself.
