First of all, I am an international asian in a private boarding school.
I have already settled down one of my two teachers' recommendations, I think I will get a solid recommendation from my AP physics teacher who has known me very well.
Now, I have to make a choice between my Cal B.C teacher and my AP U.S history teacher who both tought me in my junior year. I had A+ in my cal.bc class, I participated quite a lot in the class, and I recieved the math department award at the end of the year as well. But what I am worried about is that I don't know how well my math teacher knows me, and am not sure either how good a recommendation he will write for me. Since our relationship is basically at a not particularly close good teacher-student relationship level. We had some jokes and fun during the class, but that was it.

I had only a A- in my AP U.S history class, I was very quiet during class for most of the time. But I always did very well on the tests. And I also did a very good job on my history research paper which was like 20 pages long, and I worked kinda closely with my teacher during the writing and revising process. She kinda liked my research paper because I got one of the highest grades. But I was certainly not the most gifted history student in her class. I had her waiting for me a couple times aftere the bell ringed because I couldn't finish the test on time. I don't know how much she likes me either.

I originally thought about asking my math teacher because I have done a more outstanding performance in that area. But my GC told me that having a history teacher's recommendation could work to my advantage more since it shows me as a well-rounded student, strong across the board and also might set me apart of the pool of other good-at-math-science asians a bit.

And actually, I could also also ask my English teacher to write one for me, it was only a regular class. I did quite well in his class, A-/A, I was quite engaging in the class and he likes my writing and critical thinking ablility.

The school that I am going to apply to asks two recommendations from two teachers from two different subjects.

So considering all these, who should I ask, my math teacher, my history teacher, or possibly my English teacher?
