im in the process of asking, but I'm not sure who. I'd really like to ask my engineering teacher, but my school considers all tech classes an elective. However, I've had this teacher for 10, 11, and 12th grade so he knows me extremely well.
I also thought about asking my English teacher from last year to balance out the previous letter.
If I did this, I'd have one stem, one arts. Is this okay, or should I ask someone different?

Yes, it doesn’t matter how your school classifies things. Engineering is a STEM teacher, which is “core”- it doesn’t have to be a core class per se just a core discipline.

You should check for the LOR requirement of each school. Some schools would not care what subject the teachers taught. Some schools do specify core subject teachers and from certain grades. In addition, some schools would allow additional LOR that has no set requirement.
