Who here was at the overnight (or another visit) and took some dorm tours, and did those affect your decission? At the overnight last week I took tours of Max, Pierce, and Broadview. I was kind of set on going to Broadview, it sounded cool to have your "own" place to live. Though, after the tour, I was frightened. That dorm was so depressing! I couldn't believe how desolate it seemed inside. Not to mention, my tour guide, while I'm sure a nice girl, was just a little awkward, and if she represented who I'd be living with, I don't think I'd get along with them.

I enjoyed my Pierce dorm tour a lot. I liked the atmosphere. And, despite the closed living conditions, I wouldn't be upset to live there.

Though I fell in love with Max P. What an amazing place. The facilities were great, it had so many common areas (like the courtyards, language lab, pool table, etc.), and the rooms where just perfect. It didn't hurt that my tour guide was really knew his stuff about the dorm (and he was ridiculously good looking, but that's besides the point ;)).

So, here's hoping I get Max. I already sent in my housing application.

you should get max if you requested it. it represents by far the biggest part of the incoming class (about 55% i think), and if youve already sent in the thing, your app will be ahead of a good portion of the total. see ya

I toured Broadview - wow the Chicago guide lied about the "beautiful" Broadview. The basement reminded me of the most horrid battleship - complete with battleship gray paint.YUCK! I loved B-J because of the cool collegiate Gothicness. However, I think that it's high time for renovation. I stayed in Shoreland. I liked it because the rooms were very large. But yet another one in need of TLC. But since it's getting torn down in a few years for condos, it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Broadview is definitley a sad and depressing place.

Also, Shoreland is not being torn down. It is being rennovated heavily and being turned into condos.

Kiwi, glad you liked Max. I lived their last year and loved. And that hot tour guide you have...if he is who I think he is (and he most likely is)...yes, that boy is beautiful in every respect, single, and heavily sought after.

From around five different documents on this website, I gather that they are currently looking for a buyer for Shoreland and that they indeed hope to build housing that's more financeable nearer to campus.
