who took sat II spanish?

i don't know if i should take sat II spanish?

how many years of spanish did u take, what did u do to prepare, did u think it was hard, and if u don't mind, what's ur score?

well, i'm a native speaker but i took spanish in school freshman, sophmore and now, junior year. for the test, i basically went over the test prep book, made sure that i knew ALOT of vocab etc..

if you dont know alot of vocab and/or can't identify when to use certain verb forms or prepositions, you might not be ready for the test.

i never really learned how to write spanish until i came to hs but for me the test was pretty lenient. it was definently easier than i expected but then i again, i have a slight advantage because it's my native language. on the practice tests for the kaplan book i used i got mostly around 630, a little less maybe and a little higher but i found those tests more difficult that the real thing which i took in may.

i'll post my score tomorrow after i find out what it is...wish me luck...

i hope i've helped you.

thanks smile and good luck. yeah. most of the ppl i know who take it r native speakers. i just don't if i should take it though cuz i've heard its really hard for the non-natives.

Non-native here. In IB Spanish for 3 years now, and i took the test on May 7th or w/e. I'm pretty good at Spanish, I guess, as I usually have the highest grade in all the classes almost since 9th grade. To prepare, I went through Kaplan and Barron's books (honestly, I think the Kaplan was more helpful). I also watched spanish tv, especially basketball games, and looked some new words. But I mostly crammed in the last week or so to do all this preparation. The practice tests were killer, i kept getting around 560-630, and I was worried. On the real thing, I got a 770, and on a past real SAT II Spanish test (from Collegeboard's book) I got a 760. In the end, I would have to say it was challenging, but not terribly difficult.

I'm not a native speaker and I took 3 years of spanish ( AP spanish this year) And I got a 620 ( sucks..). I'm retaking it probably

non native, 2 and a half years of spanish (Spanish I, IV, and 1/2 AP), 760. i would have done better if my spanish IV teacher had actually taught us anything...

woohoo---730

790 / three blank :)

semi-native speaker (my parents speak spanish, but they don't speak it well.. and we speak english at home. i studied spanish over the summer on my own, because of my limited knowledge of the language. i took ap spanish this year, and didn't do as well as all of the really fluent native speakers, but i did well enough for my standards.. :))

I did not take spanish before AP Spanish. I was recommended to take it by my old french teacher because she thought it would help me brush up my spanish skills. She was right. :)
