Who wants to critique/ advise on my Statement of Purpose?

<p>Hey there everybody.</p>

<p>I got all my recommendation letters done, got my GRE back (166 V, 168 Q - satisfied enough though wanted perfect Q score lol).</p>

<p>The final piece I need done is the SOP. And my application might be enough of a long shot already as it is so I need a great SOP statement as well.</p>

<p>Most of my SOP essays are due in February, but I do have one deadline in less than a week (January 15th).</p>

<p>I'm applying for a Masters in Statistics but come from a bit of an unusual social sciences background.</p>

<p>This particular essay has a 500 word limit, so it's not too long, but is anyone willing to critique it or give some general advice/ constructive criticism? It definitely needs a lot of work and can be a lot better...</p>

<p>Any general advice when it comes to SOP essays is welcome as well.</p>

<p>Another question, since everyone seems so excited to read my essay, lol…</p>

<p>Would it be a bad idea to flat out mention in an SOP that University X would hands down be my top choice? Would that be seen as a plus or just baseless pandering?</p>
