Who Was Asked for an RD Interview?

I did not think Dartmouth tried to interview everyone, so it came as a surprise when they asked me to do an interview. So, do they try to interview all, as does HYP, or do they only interview if they have a convenient interviewer in the area, or do they select people at random as I've heard UNC-Chapel Hill is doing to see if they should start interviewing all?

Thanks...

I think most applicants get an interview IF there are alumni present.
My interview was supposed to be tomorrow, but it got pushed back to sometime in February. I'm from NYC btw.

edit: oh, I can't wait!

i havent yet been contacted about an interview, despite sending in my application sometime in mid-december. does this mean there is no alumni in the area, or that they havent contacted me yet?

I'm in NYC and already had an interview. My interviewer was really nice, really helpful, and altogether a really cool person. Although I'm in Queens, the interview was in the City. I would assume that they have people in all boroughs come in to the City for interview, but I may be wrong.

It depends,

Metsfan,

we are also from Queens but D had all of her college interviews in the city. I think it ends up being a matter of logistics on the part of the interviewer. Some may reside in the city but those that work more than likely work in the city.

Her Dartmouth interview was held at her interviewer's place of business (she also attended school in the city so it was also convenient).

It worked out for her because the interview was in the same building where my niece works, so my niece ended up taking her out to lunch after the interview because it was both regents week (she had no exams that day) and restaurant week :)

Im on LI and I got one.

I'm in Baltimore and I haven't gotten one.

I'm in a suburb of cleveland and I got an email about an interview for this saturday. But I haven't heard back from the interviewer yet, so I have no idea what's going on.

I'm from CT and half my interview in exactly 1 hour! I'm pretty nervous since this is my first interview.

I'm also in the Cleveland area. rhapsody: I didn't get a response when I first e-mailed the day after I got the invitation, which was about a week ago. I just e-mailed again today at 7 PM and got a reply two hours later with directions and confirmation.

It's my first interview, so we'll see how it goes. I am genuinely interested in Dartmouth and am trying to do some research on it.

I had an interview when I applied. I had to travel three hours to Omaha.

I had an interview with a couple who are both Dartmouth alums. It was very relaxed and I had more time to ask them questions compared to just a formal interview. I think it lasted around 45 minutes or so.

I'm from Chicago and I was never contacted. ( I applied in Oct. for ED) :(

did ya get in ED?

No. I know people say that it doesn't hurt if you don't get an interview, but I think it did hurt a little bit.

I have my interview in two weeks, and the interviewer wants to have it at his home. Is that weird?

Bre JL -
No. Its pretty common.

I had my interview saturday, went pretty well. I'm not sure, but I seem to remember the Dartmouth Common App supplement asking whether or not you wanted an interview, but i'm not sure

Hey, I'm in Minneapolis, and I haven't heard from anyone. Has anyone from Minnesota been contacted?

the interviewer contacted my school counselor. I will have interview in 2 weeks...
