Geniusriki, You are making the exact same decision that I had to last year, and for me it was extremely difficult. I didn't send in my deposit until April 30th because both Tufts and Bowdoin were great places to be in my mind. In the end I choose Tufts primarilly because of the size. Bowdoin is smaller than my high school, and frankly, I just wanted to be at a larger, more dynamic place where everyone did not necessarily know each other and you could still meet new people often. Tufts at about 4500 students was to me a much more attractive size, not too big, not too small. Academically, I figured it was a wash. If you want to do IR or Engineering, that would slant it towards Tufts and I know Bowdoin is particularly strong in Government, but otherwise I would say they are fairly equal. The larger size of Tufts does allow for a greater diversity in courses in addition to having interesting programs like Community Health that a smaller school may not. I did overnights/Open Houses at the schools on consecutive days, and in the end, at Bowdoin I found myself reflecting back to visting Tufts the day before and thinking that I simply felt more at home at Tufts. The reason my decision took so long was that Bowdoin gave me better financial aid, but I was able to talk to Tufts about this to reach a solution. One of my best friends here faced the same final decision and also decided on Tufts. I encourage you to visit both, but if what I said resonates with you, I urge you to consider Tufts as your first choice.

Hey guys, I'm going to Tufts next year. I was almost positive I'd be going far far away from college since I litterally live 20 minutes from Tufts and I can get there by train. It's the only school I applied to in Massachusetts, but it's the best school I got into. Boston is really awesome (don't let anyone fool you, it basically is in Boston) and I'm really excited about attending. International relations what what!

Im probably going to Tufts, I doubt I will like Brandeis more, but I have to go to both open houses anyways. The only reason I wouldnt go to Tufts is if I got off the Harvard or Duke waitlists, but thats a long shot. Im still excited about going to Tufts

I'm with astroalex in that I'm set on Boston. It's down to either Tufts or BU. Right now, I'm thinking it's a fairly easy decision. BU has a LOT of work to do if it wants to change my mind. :)

Im going to tufts as well. Just happens to be halfway around the globe for me! but thats ok.

That's awesome dink. Where you from?

I just enrolled into Tufts yesturday! I'm so excited, but I enrolled late because I couldnt decide between William and Mary and Tufts, but in the end I know I made the right decision.

I was wondering if any of you people going to Tufts want to chat on AIM. My screename is willymd888 IM me.

Im from India - and im looking forward to coming to Tufts.
