D. accepted at Yale SCEA is turning down full rides from ASU Honors College and U of Arizona, but is waiting to hear from the other places, see what they offer.

Well I do have a full tuition at Vanderbilt (I'd just pay room and board) but I'm going to go ahead and shell out the extra 30k for Yale if I cant haggle them down a little bit I suppose...

i didn't get a full ride but i got into tulane honors college and got a presidential award which is like 24k a year. but i honestly would never go there. and with fin aid i feel like i'd get the same from yale or any ivy anyway.

if you already got into vandy, i'm assuming you applied ED, so how could you choose yale now?

I only applied to Cornell ED and got deferred, I applied to 11 more colleges RD but won't hear from any until April.
I'm hoping Brandeis will give me good merit scholarships, that would be an awesome safety.

I have full tuition at Ohio University (which, honestly, isn't difficult to get). I'll turn that down in a heartbeat if I get into Yale. Plus, OU is my 6th choice out of the 7 schools that I applied to and I already got into two schools above it.

I'd turn down the University of Kansas full ride I have.

I will almost definitely turn down full national merit scholarships at Baylor and Fordham if I get into Yale- unless Yale's FA package isn't as good as they say it will be- only 10% of ur income seems like a pretty good deal . . .

@nick017 and chjmov1
maybe his parent(s) teach there so they get full tuition, like at Wellesley that's what they do for faculty kids

I got full ride from Michigan State--they offered to pay for everything!! It's the last school on my list but I feel guilty turning it down for a school I really want to go to...especially in this economy :(

D accepted at Y SCEA two years ago and got a full ride to UMichigan. Attended UM freshman year, transferred to Y sophomore year.

S had full-ride from USC, but went to Yale last year. He really likes DS program and is looking forward to the second half of the program.
